Reviews for Mafia II DLC: Jimmy's Vendetta

Jimmy's Vendetta DLC is an addon for the game Mafia II, including a new quests and the players can use another character to play them, which is really cool. The quests are very good, but they get really repetitive after a while, but anyway this is better than the other DLCs the developers have made, since it actually has more good stuff like missions. I don't think it is worth its price, but anyway it is cool to have it and be able to play it, especially for the new story behind it. I just recommend this to those who want a little more added in their game and really want to spend eight bucks on it.

Jimmy Vendetta is a DLC that adds a few hour of gameplay to Mafia 2. The game is quite boring: you must complete the various mission one after the other until you reach the end of the game. There isn't a story like in the main game and the missions are repetitive and the timer is really annoying
Decent DLC, but should have come with the gameCooberstooge | May 14, 2012 | See all Cooberstooge's reviews »
The whole reason Mafia II failed to garner as much respect from gamers as its predecessor is, in my opinion, the lack of replayability. Jimmy's Vendetta adds that, although those easily bored by missions that are fairly uniform and unimaginative may want to avoid a purchase.
Basically, the DLC just adds things like car stealing, killing, racing, and chases. You're timed and given rewards for successful completion and such things as massive drifting, jumping, and whatnot. The replayability is trying to better your times and scores, and as such begins to dull after a while.
Empire Bay is still the same city as it was, with nothing new added. You even reuse some of the save spots as the stock game, which to me feels a little tacky. Jimmy is a mercenary, after all - you'd think he'd want to avoid being near the same haunts as gangsters.
I'd say Jimmy's Vendetta is more value for money than what you'll be getting out of the car/suit packs, but make sure you know what you're getting into first before taking the plunge.

This DLC isn't totally useless like the others, but it adds new missions, Yes, at the end of this DLC we will be bored about the repetitivity and we will not totally satisfied, but it's something different that will add some hours on the game. I recommend it only to the fan of the game however.

The base game is short and lacking due to the many and plentiful dlc that comes along. The game feels unfinished and unpolished but that is completed with all the dlc. While it seems like mafia2 tries to copy how dlc is worked in games such as Dragon Age: Origins, it utterly fails. This dlc feels like a side quest rather than a dlc. It should have been in the base game instead. For ten dollars, you get nothing but boredom.
Good gameplay but nothing to offerArthan | June 15, 2011 | See all Arthan's reviews »
The problema of this DLC is that it doesn't offer anything to the main game. It's like a bunch of missions to offer some hours of gameplay but it has nothing to do with Vito's story.
Otherwise, it offers a new feature and it's that you can make cars explode by shooting at their gas deposit. Good gameplay and lot of action but still boring to play.
This is why Mafia 2 had so little content.wahidasoldier | April 11, 2011 | See all wahidasoldier's reviews »
Mafia 2 was a good game that suffered from a lack of content, yes the story was good but it had to be because there was absolutely nothing else to do in the game. You may wonder how on earth they took 8 years to develop a game that lasts 8 hours? welcome to Jimmy's Vendetta, some of the content that was stripped from the original game so they could sell you it as DLC. PC gamers who have access to the games files know that what we were sold as a full game was in fact a stripped down version, the rest of the game including elements of the story will be sold as DLC. Just checkout http://mafia2removedfeatures.wikia.com/wiki/RealMafia2_Wiki to see just how much content has been ripped from the game.
The DLC itself is poor, the missions themselves are just side missions with a timer added just for extra annoyance. You score points arcade style for various things and these go up onto a leaderboard. Drive here, blow that up/kill that person, drive back, rinse and repeat. They haven't even bothered changing anything for Jimmy, he lives in the same apartments as Vito, he doesn't even have his own body, they've put his head on Vitos's body without bothering to change the textures so the head and body match. This DLC is a rip off, they are charging us money for what should already be in the game. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't bother with this if it was free, I sure as hell wouldn't recommend anyone pay for this garbage.
