Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time got me into the genre of action platformers. The game is a quality piece of work, and truly one of the best games of all time. Sands of Time places you into a unique setting, with mysterious characters and a cool gameplay style. You will run through traps, jump large ravines, walk on walls, amongst other things. The game uses an awesome timeshift feature to slow down and rewind time to complete your objectives. Combat in the game is solid, if perhaps more challenging because of the sheer amount of enemies than their intelligence. Graphics are dated today, but more than good enough to convey the great story and gameplay mechanics. Truly a masterful game that is worth playing by anyone.

What can I say about this game that was not said already? that is awesome? that is the first game with an awesome slow mechanic? that is groundbreaking?... This game is, as the title said a modern classic, it has everything that you would love to see on a modern game, and more. The good: +Awesome slow-mo mechanic. +Fluid parkour gameplay. +Challenging puzzles. +Beautiful backgrounds. +A great storyline. +Time travel!!! The bad: -The controls are a little stiff. -Some minor bugs and glitches. -Some times the characters are kinda dumb. This is a must play for everyone, this game is one of my favorites of all time, I would recommend it for everyone, for real, this game is great!
Not surprising but pretty solidmahon | Jan. 20, 2014 | See all mahon's reviews »
There haven't been many videogame series which evolved as much as the Prince of Persia games. From the early platformer (very interesting, graphically impressive and innovative for its time) to modern action games of today, the games remain popular choices and have kept entertaining players for years now. The Sands of Time is not a new game now and it shows its age, but it remains very playable and can be enjoyed as much as in the time of its release. It combines some platforming elements with combat and pretty good story, which combination results in enjoyable gameplay. The game will not surprise you with any innovative concepts now, unless you are not familiar with games of the last decade, but it's a solid bit of gaming anyway.
