I cannot believe it's already the seventh Settlers game, and the whole series remains as much fun as it always used to be. Of course, it's not the same kind of a breakthrough game that kept everybody talking about it but keeping the series alive and interesting throughout seven incarnations is an accomplishment in itself! This game looks great, like a cartoon for children but the gameplay is not childish at all. It involves serious decision making and takes a lot of planning. Sure, it isn't Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings, but it was never meant to be. It's more like a casual light-hearted empire building game, and it does its job perfectly. The Deluxe edition includes additional maps, which will surely please every gamer, and which are really well made. There are additional buildings and elements to be created, new missions to play and new locations to visit. Unless you expect a srtrategy game to be a heavy brain-burner, you should be delighted to play Settlers 7.
