A must-buy for any FPS fan

At the time it came out, The Orange Box was perhaps one of the most significant collection of games, both quality and quantity wise. Eight years later, that hasn't changed much. While Team Fortress 2 is currently free to play (it has been so for a while), this package offers the premium perks that you can only obtain with the pay to play version, not to mention it adds one more reason for you to get into this awesome game, one of the best multiplayer FPSs ever. The main part of the package is the continuation of the first Half-Life's story, a "trilogy" with a much more complex plot, solid gameplay and engaging action, fleshed-out characters, an excellent physics engine and visual that hold up well even by today's standards. Finally, we have Portal, a true underdog game in the sense that it performed better than anyone could have expected, spanning an even more successful sequel (in my opinion, one of the best games ever made) and a cult following. If you consider yourself a gamer and have even a fleeting interest in FPS games, then do yourself a service and buy this awesome collection.

Valve Must buy pack

It contains 3 Games from the Half-Life series, the most successful fps from valve playing as gordon freeman after the end from the first game + Portal: the first puzzle game from valve, where you meet the AI GLaDOS and play through different test chambers every level and the most played free to play game on steam: Team Fortress 2(even if tf2 was paid when this pack was released), it is still worth if you don't have played any valve games and you want to meet this new universe of masterpieces, a must buy.

The best old school shooter with expansions and even more!

Half-Life 2 is best first person shooter I've played. Game is old. Still stunning visuals, vivid atmosphere and creative gameplay experience. This game handles physics accurately first time in pc-gaming history (my opinion). Must play for everyone who haven't played this. Also for them who played this earlier. You understand plot better with second playthrough. Portal is physics-based science-thriller. I liked it much. This package have some of best pieces of last century pc-gaming. Valve knows how to make nearly perfect games.

Maybe in this day and age Half Life 2 seems dated and old: I have even heard some kids say they should remake it with modern graphics! When this Orange Box came out though it was cutting edge, story-driven FPS quality. It has subtitles throughout, even for sound effects which is great for the hard of hearing and still to this day is a massive rarity in games. Portal is the best ever 3d puzzle game with plot and fantastic humour and lovely touches that has entered the consciousness of gaming: it is a platinum classic, a legend. I'm not exaggerating. TF2 is now free, yes, but I think this purchase makes your account a "paid" one in the same way as buying an item does. When it first came out this game was even more fun than it is now because the community was better. It's still great though, but the loot has kind of taken over everything, just as happened with counter strike. TLDR, you probably already have these games in your collection but if you don't, please pay the small amount of money to rectify that situation and learn where we came from.

A really cheap treasure box

All of these games are a must have for any PC gamer. Portal stands out as one of the most emblematic puzzle games of this generation. Half Life 2 continues an amazing game and story, with a fresh and new experience. And even though TF2 is free already, it pays off by the amount of content it has. $20 for these games is a great deal!

Men I had so many great time on those games

This pack it's worth its price (yeah even at full price) you'll get Half Life 2, the game which after Half Life has defined an era of the FPS scene, do you remember the presentation at E3 2003? I was completely blown away after watching that gameplay/tech video, it was mind blowing. In the package there are also the two official expansion pack for Half Life 2, Episode 1 and 2 which continue the story of Gordon Freeman and his friends (and enemies), the only let down it's the huge cliff-hanger that Episode 2 left, we all expected an Episode 3 but it never happened, and there are no signs of an eventual Half Life 3, at least not officially since Valve hasn't announced or presented anything new related to the Half Life universe. In this pack there's also Team Fortress 2, one of the most awaited multiplayer games of the last 10 years (it should have been released on about 2004 but it got released 3 years later, in 2007). This game offers lot of teamwork gameplay and it's one of the most played multiplayer FPS of the last years (Note that this game it's now free to play, buying the game however it grants you premium status, but there aren't any differences or limitation between the retail and the free to play versions). The last but not the least important of the pack it's Portal, a First Person Puzzle game which received critical acclaim all over the gamers world, all this success has made possible a sequel called Portal 2, even greater and acclaimed title released in 2011 featuring great storytelling and even more creative puzzles. So, what are you waiting for? What? Are you still here reading my review? Just get out of here and buy it NOW!!!!

Great collection of games at a great price.

This is probably the best deal I've ever seen, 5 great games all for only 5$. Half Life 2 is one of the best FPS of all time, with a great story and amazing graphics for the time. This game gives all half life games except the first. TF2 is a amazing, unique FPS multiplayer game, which isnt a shooter that takes itself seriously, and really focuses on balancing and teamwork. Each class counters another, and it is great. Portal is a whole new take on puzzle games/FPS with a portal gun, which allows you to teleport from portal to portal, and solve puzzles in a facility run by a robot named GLaDoS

Best deal in gaming

Half-Life 2, the main game and both episodes; Portal; and Team Fortress 2. You get several instalments of one of the most beloved series ever; you get the epitome of comedy puzzle FPSs; and you get a tightly-crafted multiplayer shooter experience. What more could you ask for?

The (almost) best of Valve.

This pack would be complete if they added some Left 4 Dead game here, but well. It's one of packages that will deliver you infinite hours of fun. Starting from great Half Life 2 and episodes 1 and 2, to demanding Portal, and ending at one of the best multiplayer games ever - Team Fortress 2. Since Team Fortress 2 is a free to play game, activating Orange Box on your Steam account will give you a premium account to this game. This have a few nice features. These are games that are must play for everyone and will please every PC gaming player. And this pack is a best deal, getting everything seperate will cost you much more.

A Fantastic Package

I'm sure by now you already know about most if not all of the games included in the Orange Box, it's been around for years, but I think it's safe to say that most of the games in it are fairly timeless. Portal isn't the longest game in the world, but if you fancy a brain-bending challenge or just something a bit different, then this game will keep you occupied for quite a while. Team Fortress 2 has gone free-to-play since the release of The Orange Box, but this purchase will still get you a lot - this counts as a premium upgrade, which allows you to find better weapons, carry more in your backpack, and also unlocks a few other special bonuses. It's a great game. Mann vs Machine, the wave-based survival mode is my favourite, but the team based competitive modes are equally as good. My only complaint with TF2 is that it often doesn't feel like you're progressing or getting anywhere. Weapons drop randomly, and there is no levelling system, so you are going to be playing purely for the fun of playing. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it keeps a level playing field, but it does sometimes make me burn out on the game a little. Half Life 2 doesn't really need a long description - it's fantastic, play it now. This is a fantastic purchase, and I still play all of the games years after I bought it. Valve know how to make a good one.

Some of the best games ever from Valve

The Orange Box is a collection of some absolute gems from Valve. You get the complete Half Life 2 collection, which is the vanilla Half Life 2 and its 2 episodes, which quite possibly represents single player FPS at its finest. You also get the first Portal which is a really engaging and innovative game which took the computer game world by storm when it came out. The pack also includes Team Fortress 2 but it is free-to-play now though. This is a great pack with some fantastic single player experience and multiplayer experience. If you haven't played Half Life 2 yet (where have you been??) then this pack is definitely a must buy!!

This package contains a lot of great single player as well as multiplayer games. HL2, Ep1, and Ep2 continues the story of the original acclaimed HL series. Next you have Portal, a single player experience that challenge you by giving you an amount of chamber to test in, which are puzzles for players to solve. Lastly, one of the best multiplayer FPS for the PC, TF2, while this game is currently free to play, by getting this package will unlock the premium features of TF2. The game have numerous maps, game modes, mods, servers, as well as player base. Overall, this should be a pickup for any PC gamers.
