Compared to other Painkiller there is nothing to report: the protagonists are recycled, the enemies are recycled, the environments are recycled with relative texture, objects are recycled, the weapons are recycled and menus are recycled. This is a small tribute that can be enjoyed by a few hardcore fans, but that does not make much sense outside of its celebratory nature of mod. Technically there is not much to say more than that. It is a game of 2004, so the graphics engine is 2004. At the time he made a certain effect, today does not compare.

Painkiller Redemption is a copy of the first title of the series and it's the same old style FPS where you must defeat hordes of enemies in order to reach the end of the level. The main defect of the game is that it looks like the original released seven or more years ago: the graphic is really bad compared to the one of games like Battefield 3 and the enemies and level are practically the same of the first Painkiller. Painkiller Redemption looks like a bad remake of the first Painkiller

And that is basically the whole game. 6 levels with very poor and ascetic design. Gameplay is repetitive and the player is stuck in one room for too long as in Recurring Evil though RE was a bit less painful. Here developers put thousands of boring enemies and gave you many weapons. Not necessarily because for such numbers only rocket launcher is relevant. Graphics are bad, gameplay is bad, enemies are bad, only music is ok. If it was not enough, there are some pesky bugs forcing you to load game from time to time. Painkiller needs badly a healer. Right now... Or several years ago.

I was surprised when I first launched this game. I was hoping for something much better than the first Painkiller. However it wasn't like that at all. Even the graphics seemed worse than the original's. It also had a lot of bugs, and even crappier level designs. That was accombined with poor sounds. It really isn't something much compared to the first part. I still completed it out of respect to the first part though, but I didn't play it the second time. If you want a great game - go take Painkiller: BE instead. But if you respect Painkiller and want to see what's up with it - this game is extremely cheap.

I moderately enjoyed the first Painkiller game. Sadly, this one doesn't even come close: the load times are ridiculous, the game is extremely buggy, and there is almost nothing new about this game at all - just a boring re-hash of the first game. Just crap, really.

The game is visually worse than the original, and has poorer level design and story. The game just uses the Painkiller name, but fails to match the fun, addicting, and polished experience Painkiller: Black Edition is. Go check that out instead. The game simply fails to live up to its namesake.

This repetitive shooter is a repetitive shooter. To describe how repetitive this repetitive shooter is, all you do is collect bullets, shoot and kill a boat load of enemies and move on to the next generic room and repeat, The game does have a variety of weapons where you get to use them as you progress. You get them all when you start out, but you can't use them unless you collect ammo for that certain weapon. Painkiller Redemption is fun at first where the music puts you in the mood to kill kill kill, but each section of the room just goes on for far to long. The game is still new and the devs promises many new features like co-op and such, but we'll just have to see. The mindless shooting compares to Serious Sam, but it's not even close to the level of Serius Sam's production value and fun factor. The stages, enemies, gameplay doesn't have much variety (at all!) as the weapons, but for the price, its an alright game.
