SEGA Bass Fishing is a game that simulate the fishing activity: in general your objective is to get the heaviest fish or to win tournaments. After some times the game can become boring, If you want to enjoy at the best this game, it's better to use a gamepad

Great little niche title

SEGA has certainly put out some truly different and original titles over the years, and Bass Fishing is no different. From trying, and almost always failing, to catch your voice, to the mind-blowingly horrendous voice acting, this has all the hallmarks of a wacky classic. Being a port, the controls on this one do take a little getting used to, but you'll be working on reeling in the next big one in no time. Yes, the difficulty here is steep, but there's nothing quite like landing a virtual successful catch. Fighting the fish is only half the battle here, where too much stress on that line of yours can mean the scaly fellow will escape back into the deeps. As this is quite an old game, the graphics are pretty raunchy nowadays, but that's really just part of the charm of these old timers, and one of the best reasons to play it. Totally recommended, for even the least bit curious of folks - this is good for more than a few laughs.

GREAT technique!

The voiceovers in this game are hilariously bad, and annoying too! Music is terribly generic. But lots of fun is be had while you try to catch fish and not break your fishing line! Obviously not a game for everyone, but if you are looking for some casual fun or a good way to pass some time, this is some great light hearted fun for everyone!

This game really feels like an arcade game. Oh wait, it is. Basically, it is a port. And as usual, ports are bad in one way or another. Controls are hard to use, they feel like you need a joystick or something of the kind to actually do anything. Hence "arcade". Visually speaking, it's okay one way or another. It's not completely terrible, just enough to be bearable. Gameplay can be fine if you ever get used to the visuals. Just don't expect it to be bug free and such. I'd rather go for real fishing though.

This makes fishing games fun

Sega Bass Fishing simply makes fishing games fun. The game is not a true fishing simulator which is a good thing, because most of the time in my real life fishing experiences I don't catch anything, but enjoy being outdoors anyway. This game is pretty much an arcade fishing game and has plenty of fishing action. I will be quite honest with you, playing this game with the control pad is not very fun, but when you get the fishing rod controller the game truly shines. The graphics are very good and all the excitement of reeling the fish in is all there. Sega Bass Fishing is a good game and if you still have a dreamcast, it is definitely worth playing. If you have a group of friends who enjoy fishing, they will love this game.
