Impressive engine upgrade over the original first; moody soundtrack and good use of ambient sound, rarely utilises its new physical freedom being inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft storyline is intriguing and the puzzles are logical as well as challenging

Good but...

the first game was much way better. The developers want to give an ending (a true one) to the first game, but the story of this one is not so good. There are multiple endings,by the way,but you can chhose them in the final segment of the game. The gameplay is similar to Amnesia one,you will move around 3D rooms, collecting stuff etc (in the first game there where static screens).Nice game, but nothing more.

I like the feeling this game gives off. But let's start it off by praising the amazing soundtrack and a new level of visual quality. Physics in the game feel more "realistic" if that is how you want to word it. I have a couple pet peeves with the game. why not just name the difficulty levels easy, normal, and hard? Standard, Detective, and Senior Detective mode is just plain silly. Well..puzzles in this game aren't much more of a challenge than the ones in Half life 2. So if you have played HL2, you'll know the feeling. The usage of darkness is very nice too. It gives off a scary atmosphere. Something that is required in almost all horror games in my opinion. Good game.

Better than part one?

When there's a sequel to one of the best point and click games of all time, you might wonder whether it's better or not. Well, to come directly to the point, it is. The graphics are simply stunning, and your possibilities, the things you can inspect, have firmly increased. There is a completely new mystery for you to solve, with of course the known difficulty levels as in part one. It's a good thing they're using a brand new engine for this game, as it is just beautiful.
