Reviews for Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition (MAC)

Better than the first !

One of the most interesting points of Borderlands 2 remains the strategy when facing enemies . For there is a huge variety of weapons and ammunition as well as in the first game . But you need to spend hours to get an arsenal that makes it good, and it ends up leaving the tiring game. The graphics follow the same pattern of the previous game which particularly pleases me very much , because it is different from all the other games. The gameplay is very good, and easy controls which makes the game more addictive and makes the player spend hours having fun . Recommend the game to everyone especially for those who liked the first .

Good game and awesome graphics !

Really great game although I expected a little more ... I can not say this game tired me,just there something missing. be tested newer version of the game and find what I was looking for. but we must say it is a game whose graphics are incredibly interested in! at first sight is it Modern and something else ... I have no specifically Borderlands 2 game of the years edition but only Borderlands 2. I think the new edition i will buy and will enjoy with your friends! I recommend rate is 9,2/10 because there's something missing. in my assessment one thinks a lot. but I just want to say that I'm just demanding player. It's really good!

A fun loot grind that plays a bit too similar to its predecessor

Borderlands 2, at its best, is an addictive loot grind with your friends, blowing up psychos and collecting whatever pops out of their corpses. The hunt for legendary items is seemingly endless, but it comes with its own set of problems. First, the game plays far too similar to the first Borderlands. The gunplay is nearly identical, feeling weak and non-impactful. There's only one usable ability per class, which is what hurts the gameplay most, but more on that later. The quest structure is uninspired and simplistic, and the movement is slow and floaty. Then comes the issue that the game's plethora of guns actually makes the game less interesting instead of moreso. In the first game, finding a new gun usually meant it'd have a different playstyle than your current weapon but be more powerful, so you'd happily switch. Borderlands 2 fails in this regard as they tried to differentiate the guns beyond what was required. The end result is that you'll most likely find one very specific gun that "feels" right and stick with it, because other weapon types are so wildly different that the act of firing them becomes unfun and they just feel weaker. The game looks fine, at the time of this review the Pre-Sequel is already out and they both look about the same. Cartoonish, moderately decent textures, games tend to run fine on most systems so long as lower-end machines don't try to push PhysX. The DLC is a mixed bag as always, with Tiny Tina's being the high point. I was one of the few who really liked the character of Tiny Tina, but even if you hate her, the stuff they do in her DLC is really fun and interesting. Trust me. Overall, the game plays well, but it's more of the same. If you're okay with that, go for it! Totally worth it. If you've never played a Borderlands game, go for it! Also totally worth it. But for someone like me, who was hoping for a bigger more *fun* variety of weapons and abilities, it just felt a little too samey.

Loot with meaning

Zaggeta | Nov. 6, 2014 | See all Zaggeta's reviews »

Kill, loot, buy stuff with loot, use stuff to kill more...loot again. That's basically Borderlands. I was honestly never a fan of the first one. I found it bland and repetitive and preferred games like Diablo if I wanted a non-stop loot-fest. Borderlands 2 changes much of the sense of tedium with a story with actual stakes as well as humorous writing. The game can get dull quite fast, however, without friends to play it with. This is definitely a Co-Op game.

Good game, perfect co-op

This game features some very original decent graphics to be the sequel to the first, is a game that will give you hours of entertainment and if you play with a friend, much better, has some side quests you will give eager to complete them all, the gameplay is perfect, the only problem is the lag, so I step is trying to play with a friend, it was impossible, we live close by and also we could not play, or for errors or does not work well the server, removing eo is a good game, if you have a good computer and a good internet connection (If they want to play with a friend) I totally recommend it. My score is 8.5 / 10

This is by far one of the best games I have played to date, it has amazing gameplay, a good story and although the graphics aren't the fancy type of graphics its still a really good looking game. I have put more hours into this than I have any other game and I would recommend everyone to buy the game, it is full of humor and fun!

One of the best games !!

Borderlands 2 is amazing! I've played both of the Borderlands games through multiple times, and while there is something about the first one that will always have that special place in my heart as the original....BL2 is better in so many ways! The story in the first one, as we all know, has its letdowns. However, in the second one they really put some heart and soul into it! Twist, turns, ups, downs and some awesome shocking moments make this game fantastic! And yes... GUNS GUNS GUNS! Buy the game. Play the game. Love the game.

Great game

This game is worthy sequel to Borderlands. It brings gameplay that no other game can give you, very original graphics, a cooperative game to play with very good friends, and this version also brings many dlcs that make it much more fun. The first time I played it totally surprised me, I felt that by without this game before, some people say that this game becomes repetitive, but this is possible only if you do not like the gameplay that we proposed, if you appreciate, is one of the best fps games that you can play, I do not have much more to say so my grade is a 10/10

Loot first, ask questions later

A staggering amount of content. Can be a bit of a grind at times, but for the humour, the gameplay, and MY WORD THE GUNS it is an absolute must buy. Oh, and playing with friends is like playing Call of Duty except fun. Get it now and start shooting flaming midgets.

Huge bang for your buck!

This is probably the greatest time you'll have playing a first person shooter. It's funny and great with friends. There's so much loot and the art style is incredible. Enemies can get bullet-spongy, but I had over a hundred hours on the game before I found it getting repetitive. Highly highly recommended.

Best game I've spent my money on

This game is great, I haven't played through all the dlc yet, but I will have soon. If you like running around with guns in a monster filled world with everybody wanting to kill you, then definitely buy this game. I played the first one but this has much better navigation, and the graphics are better too. It still has a few problems like raid bosses can't be beat very easily on your own and some characters can't beat the raid bosses on their own at all, so try to get some friends together for them. It is definitely more fun with friends

Great Edition

Borderlands 2 is a great game. It perfected alot of the issues in the first one but kept true to its core. The GOTY edition includes the DLCs which are great. They aren't just forced in side missions. The dlcs focus on giving you more playing time with the games favorite characters. A definite buy as long as your ok with some humor (this is not dark souls).

Very entertaining, even more fun with friends

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's a blast to play especially with friends or just random people online with up to 4 people playing together. There are tons of side quests to do and each one has it's own dialogue and personality to it which makes this more fun and interesting. It doesn't feel like those bland side quests from WOW where you just go kill X amount of mobs or w/e. There is also tons of loot to pick up. The weapon variety is pretty much endless which has pros and cons. It makes picking up loot interesting, you almost always want to see if it's an upgrade or interesting side grade, the con being it could start to get overwhelming/annoying to do after a while for some. The main story was very fun to follow through, as well as many of the side quests. Just too many for me to do them all though. I've played through 3 of the 4 DLC campaigns listed on this page and all 3 were very fun to play through though I wish some of them could have been longer. That's a problem I see with almost every DLC campaign though. Anyway, would totally recommend this game to just about anyone.
