I really loved Call of Duty set up on World War 2. These games were amazing. At first I was sceptical about Modern Warfare, but turned out that there wasn't need for that. It's great game. Many players will tell that it was when Call of Duty started to fall, but I don't think so. It's great title and worth playing, have great story, cool characters and what's important - have amazing multiplayer. It's game from 2007 but still have a pretty big and active multiplayer community. Going back to story in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the only thing I can complain is time you need to beat game - when I first played it, if I'm not mistaken it was on normal difficult level, I beat the game in 4 hours. Not something you would expect from any game. If you count the time to beat game on other, harder difficult levels, then it's not bad. Still, MW1 started to be game focused on multiplayer, not a game for single player. If you don't plan to play this online, and you don't beat games few times on harder difficult levels, then I'm not sure if buying this is great deal. Maybe, if you are Call of Duty fan, or looking for something for one night. Otherwise, look around, there are plenty of longer games with more options for one player.

Great FPS in modern era.

This game has already become a classic in its genre. Graphics, sound, story and gameplay are awesome and unique. Multiplayer is still popular. There are many, many crowded servers, with active admins. And if You are bored with all those things developers gave to You in this game, there are tons of mods and new maps created by players. This gives You almost endless fun with this title. I do really reccomend Call of Duty 4. It's a "must have" title in Your library.

Oh these were the days. COD 4 took everyone by storm by giving an excellent story and what would be the definitive multiplayer mode. In the campaign, you play as "Soap", a newbie who learns the ropes from Captain Price. The multiplayer gives you the reason to come back though. Endless hours of shooting people and leveling up never got old... did it?

I wasted hours and hours on this game back in the day, the multiplayer is flawless and just a straight up classic, I wish I could say the same about the single player campaign, while it retains the call of duty style gameplay, I personally felt that the campaign was a little.. lack luster. The graphics are fine for a game as old as this, they are not sparkling or glamours but they give a bleak, "at war" monochrome, which can be good but it can also ruin the atmosphere of the area. But overall the game deserves to be in the top 20 multiplayer games in my honest opinion.

Epic start to the best trilogy in Call of Duty

Solid FPS with a good story/gameplay. Unlike its predecessors it has a unique feel in some levels making it worth a look into. 5 dollar value. The only COD game i actually replayed to enjoy the story a second time. Epic win by Infinity Ward, Making the Modern Warfare series to be the best of all COD's

When this game came out, every other FPS was still doing world war 2 & nazis. Then Modern Warfare did present day terrorists, Russian ultra-nationalists and 21st century technology/weapons. Since then, every other FPS has copied the mold. Back when the single player campaign actually had a story to tell and effort was put in, this game could take around 10 hours on normal to play on your first playthrough. Now, the recent COD games can be beaten on veteran in 8 or fewer, including all the intel. A lot of revolutionary ideas were put into this game that hadn't been done in a video game before. Plot twists that have become the staple of COD games, better vehicle segments, gritty & vulgar dialogue. Summary: COD4 is one of the best FPS of the 360/PS3 generation and deserves a lot of credit. Give it a try if you can get a fair price for it.

This was the COD that bought attention to the masses- Fun, addictive, entertaining and you drained hours on the multiplayer trying to get that (countless) Prestige. Everyone must have played this in some capacity. Countless perks, weapons, add-ons, modifications, game modes, this was a fun multiplayer experience on both PC and console (and now Mac)
