Part 3 - Every journey ends one day

Alien Breed: Descent continues the story where Assault left off, at the cliffhanger of the second episode, and it is ready to close the circle and give you the final answers and the conclusion of the storyline. The graphic haven't changed since the first two episodes, but Descent has some new gameplay elements which is refreshing after the first two episodes. But the core gameplay haven't changed, so you'll still gather money, buy ammo, upgade weapons and fight against alien hordes. I felt this episode better than the second episode, Assault, but somehow its still weaker than the first, Impact. The storyline has an interesting ending, but the final fight is a bit disappointing and a bit off comparing to the rest of the game. But if you've played with Impact and Assault, Alien Breed: Descent is a mandatory purchase.

As Assault, a bit too repetitive...

Alien Breed 3 is recommended for those who have already had the opportunity to appreciate the previous chapter, but keep in mind that you will not find anything new in terms of gameplay. A wasted opportunity then? Yes, AB 3: Descent could be a game that concluded the trilogy in an explosive manner but instead proves to be very subdued and not very innovative ... a real shame for fans of a genre that is being lost (the one with the isometric view) in the time of three-dimensional graphics. Recommended only to fans of the series.

Equal to the predecessors

Descent is the last chapter in the Alien Breed series. It's again an isometric action shooter that continues and ends the story of the previous two games. There is again a single player mode with 5 levels, some survival mode maps and some multiplayer co-op missions. The gameplay is always the same and you must again survive hordes of aliens and manage the limited amount of resources you will find during the game. If you loved the first two title of the series you will like also this final chapter

Didn't add much new from number 2.

Let's cut right to the chase: there is virtually no difference b/t Alien Breed I, II, or III. They are the same game with a couple of different weapons thrown in here and there.

If this is the first Alien Breed game you've purchased, then you may feel like I did the first time I purchased one of these games: "whoa...$10? totally worth it" and you'd be right.

...but if you've purchased one or more of the prior games, you would have caught onto the fact that Team 17 essentially been sly by splitting what could have been one game into 3 versions and charging $10 each time. And you might have noted that each edition follows just a couple of months shy of the last.

The result is that to see the story through to its end, its going to cost you $30. Thus, my score is reflective of expectations of a game that costs $30 rather than a $10 budget title. Sorry Team 17, I've been a fan since the original Alien Breed game on the Amiga, but this is a little crafty...maybe EA will recruit you soon.

That said, Alien Breed III is still a fun game, but don't expect anything but a recycled version of what you've already played in the first two.

Ups: more save points, more cash (makes purchasing those hard to get upgrades a little easier, but not much) and no annoying game destroying bugs so far.

Lingering complaint: Team 17 never fixed a bug that occurs mid-way through Alien Breed II which forces a restart if you don't save before. A number of people e-mailed them - no response. Get on the ball guys!

Players will come again in the role of Conrad, who this time is located on an ice planet where you have to determine the causes that led to damage to his ship. But this time, the hero will fight outside the ship, to defeat hordes of aliens will be available and some new weapons. In my conclusion this game is very cool and the grapics are stunning i realy recomand this game.

For anyone like me who have played all two alien breed games before hand, then this..is a MUST PLAY. First, it is the last chapter of the series. Finally, you'll know what's up with the "ghost" ship. Gameplay is much better as you can see. The developers really evolved their co-op. One flaw though, too few co-op maps. I thought it would be increased but I guess not. New Aliens and such really feel forced in too since there is already a huge horde but it's okay I guess. Still, the game plays really well. I haven't encountered any bugs whatsoever. I regret that there is no first person camera, it would've been cool to at least have it in one of the games. Still, good game and a great conclusion to pretty well thought out plot.
