Reviews for Really Big Sky [Playfire]

If it is on sale, or for free, totally worth the money. ;)

It's a good game. Imo, it has high potential, but it lacks a decent tutorial, idk maybe the developers wanted to do it like that, so you have to "explore" and "experiment" a bit, how to kill that guy and stuff. People that like Arcade games will definitely like this one as well. It's not a game I would recommend to anyone, since you don't NEED this in your library, but you WANT it. Another good thing about it is that you can easily open it while waiting for friends/sex and close it when you need to. This game has very good feedback (and it indeed is!) but as i said, it lacks a tutorial, but you can find out most of the things in the first few hours or so, based on how well you use that what you got in the game. ;)

This game might become addictive, and i mean very addictive through this. There isn't much you can do but if you like flying in space, digging through planets or destroying asteroids then this might be fitting for you. The game is pretty fun at the beginning i must say that i kinda gave up playing it because of other games i got but i would return to it any time because of the fun it accumulates through playing as of the controls are soo easy to master and other mechanics of the game that it gives to the players' If your willing to buy it then i recommend it.

This game is just simply awesome, the amount of lights and explosions is really just Awesome, the randomized levels adds a nice variety each time you play, there are ingame updates that you get after scoring a ton of points and dying, after a while you will most likely have unlocked several other game modes, of which there are around 10 or so, all of which are cooool

Stupidly awesome crazy insanity

To this day, I have no clue what this game is about, except you need to kill everything, in the fastest, flashiest way possible, without getting owned yourself. Even if something doesn't seem to be hurting you, it probably is, so just kill it. Is there a back story? Yes, but I don't care. I don't think anybody does, really. Everything is randomly generated every time you play, so you'll probably not hit the same giant whatsit every time you die. You'll die all the time, honestly - you're supposed to get a higher score each time, but that never happens. Or maybe it does, but I'm too busy looking at all the funky colours. Really Big Sky is a massive time sink, if you let it go there. You'll constantly try to do better and get farther than last time, and be blown away anew every time there's some new whatsit on screen. The music is this intense thumping rave stuff that will drive you bonkers, but it suits this title so well. Visuals are sharp, bright, intense, subdued, and everything in between, and usually all at once. I highly recommend this title. It's stupidly good fun, for a ridiculously low price, and it runs fantastically well to boot.

Awesome fast-paced arcade style shooter

The game was difficult to understand at first. The tutorial is just horrible because I remember dying many times before I finally understood what was going on. Putting that frustration aside, this game is incredible! I love using my xbox controller to play this game since its a great twin-analog retro-styled shooter. While in game, you can switch between two modes: one that allows you to shoot, the other that disables your guns but allows you to bore through large planets and obstacles. The goal of the game is try and rack up as many points as possible, trying to get as far as possible. The points you earn can be used to add permanent upgrades to your ship, and there are tons to upgrade. The enemies, bosses and obstacles in the game are also interesting as well. The game boasts many different game modes so you aren't just limited to the arcade mode. This game is definitely fun to play and at such a great price too!

Hard to learn, fun to play

The game starts off luring you in with a tutorial mode that slowly ends in a BOOM! WTH you say, i did what it said... That might be correct, but u didnt do it at the right time! This game is all about getting that little bit further than last time and using your hard fought experience to upg ur whirling machine on multiple pathways. In this game you will die ALOT, but dont let that dishearten you, theres a great game hidden behind the RAGE you will have:) Some will like it, sum will hate it, personally im a bit of both:P

Very Addictive!

A guilty pleasure, though the game looks fairly simple (and it is) its actually holds the potential for a insane amount of fun! The game itself has quite a sense of humor with the stereotypical English A.I and the promise of dieing alot. Its true this game truly is about dieing as there is no end to a stage. You keep shooting your way through enemies and bosses or drilling through a planet at high speeds until you die. Once you die you can either replay the stage or end the session and be taken to an upgrade screen where you spend your earned xp to make your flying metal death trap into a more durable flying metal death trap. Its alot of fun and great to play as a side game for tons of laughs I recommend it fully!

New type

This is really a new type off space shooter. It's like space invaders revamped. But both can get boring more or less. First off, random levels do not make player experience any better. They don't have a variety, thus they can be called the same every time. Level design is really left to a bunch of coding really. I enjoyed the graphics, they're colorful to watch, very nice. Still, it feels a little unpolished. Maybe a patch or two would fix that.

An awesome arcade-style shooter!!

Really Big Sky is a great new arcade action-shooter that features procedural generation to create new worlds, a system used in other games as well. With this system, the game is innovative, fun to play, features great level design and production value, and is overall a great deal. If you love arcade-style shooters with fresh and innovative levels, you need to buy Really Big Sky.
