LEGO Harry Potter - review

This is a classic mix of platform, action and puzzle solving, seasoned with all the humor that colored bricks can offer. Spells, already present in the last chapter, are the element that differentiates the franchise from other Lego Harry Potter Lego series. We will have a total of 8 spells to be able to master, and many of these puzzles are really connected to their proper use. From this point of view, although all LEGO products are able to draw a diverse audience, we must emphasize an average difficulty in solving some puzzles, all very original and creative. The magic of this time is also used to fighting one on one, in which we have to choose the right spell at the right time, looking good with the colors shown in the circle on the ground. In these situations, moreover, we also need to press the right buttons with the right timing, as if we were in front of small and short quick time event. Those who buy LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 knows what to expect, so that if you enjoyed the predecessors, you will be at ease with this title.

Like so many other adaptations of famous series, Lego manages to make the Harry Potter story fun and attractive while keeping a varied gameplay and art-style which have made Lego games so special. If you have tried any of the other Lego games and liked them, then surely try this one.

Lego Still Has It

I've played Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Batman, and the first Lego Harry Potter. There's no doubt that Warner Bros. knows what they're doing. There are no words, just gibberish. The cutscenes are made so well, characters don't need to talk to know what is going on. The puzzles are fun but not dumbed down to the level of small children. It's a great game for all ages!

Humour great, gameplay not so great

This game has some nice graphics and music. This game has great humouristic cut-scenes which will make you laugh to such an extent that your neighbours will start to complain. However, gameplay is flawed. If you play in coop with friends, it is very fine and you will not notice much flaws. With AI it gets frustrating. LEGO video game franchise is all about collecting money and unlocking stuff. Well, there is always too little money and the computer characters do not help you collect the coins. And sometimes it takes a while until computer understands that you want to open some door. All in all, if you have someone to play with and you love to laugh a lot - get it. Otherwise, consider buying something else.

After playing all of the other Lego games, I can honestly say that this is one of the best. Like all of the other games, Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 is well designed, extremely funny and involving, intuitive, and beautiful. This title is not just a kids game. You owe it to yourself to experience this amazing game, especially if you love the other titles in the franchise.
