By far the best game I played in a long timeThulfiqaar | Aug. 9, 2012 | See all Thulfiqaar's reviews »
Skyrim is a true gem! Graphically speaking it's gorgeous. Voice acting is good, combat is so much better than Oblivion and the shouting and Dragons and you got yourself a game that is unrivaled in how big it is. That is not the best thing about skyrim though. What makes Skyrim the best game in a long time is the PC Community created Mods. They have really transformed the game in to an even better game. They improve every little aspect of the game, in both Graphic and gameplay. I'm not just talking about the brilliant Steam Workshop, go and explore Nexus mods, they have even better mods posted on there! You will end up spending hours finding the best mods to mix and match, like I and so many others have done. Seriously Guys, do yourself a huge favour and buy this game ON PC! Thank you Bethesda and the Skyrim Community for really making me fall in love all over again with PC gaming.
Incredible game, easily one of my favourites!Dinoienugget | July 4, 2012 | See all Dinoienugget's reviews »
What can I say about this game? If you like fantasy RPG's, you're going to LOVE skyrim! Everything about this game is amazing! The quests are epic, the enemies are unpredictable, the weapons are awesome and the spells are magical! Everything you might love about fantasy games is in Skyrim, except for one thing which is why this game doesnt get top marks and that is the lack of spell customization. Sure, you can equipt a spell to each hand but the thing i really loved about Oblivion was the ability to create your own spells and Skyrim just doesn't have that option (Although, by now, there is probably a mod for it on the pc version) Unfortunately for me, I was unlucky enough to buy this game for the PS3 so I missed out on all of the awesome mods that i have seen available! The other problem with the PS3 version is that it saves differently from the PC version and after a while the file becomes just too big and freezes everytime you play it, which is why i strongly suggest you buy this game on PC rather than PS3! Why are you still reading reviews? Just buy this game! Its the best decision you'll ever make!
One of my favourite gamesMattiebo | June 18, 2012 | See all Mattiebo's reviews »
I first owned this game on the PlayStation 3 before buying it on PC, making it one of just three games that I have purchased on several platforms at once (the other 2 being Borderlands and Oblivion). Being a huge fan of Oblivion, I was massively excited for Skyrim ever since it was announced at the VGAs in 2010. I was anticipated for the game, but was also slightly worried. I wanted this to be an incredible game which I would play for hours, but I thought it would be very hard to live up to the hype. Luckily, it did. Skyrim is set in a huge open-world land, north of Tameriel (where Oblivion was set). This world has everything you would expect from an RPG including towns of people offering several quests, dark caves crawling with enemies and epic landmarks. With so many things in the game, you'll likely find yourself fully immersed in the experience. Making the game even more immersive are the NPCs using the Radiant AI system, in which they can create an unscripted objective using your progress data. For example, you could be informed of a Dragon Wall (where you learn the words of power that form dragon shouts) by an NPC, who will only point it out if you haven't already been there. Recently, Bethesda also released their Skyrim Creation Kit which has been used by the community to make incredible mods. Almost every day new mods are uploaded, giving players an endless amount of playability. The first official DLC for the game, Dawnguard, will be released this year too, adding a lot of new things to offer a completely new experience. I haven't completed everything in Skyrim yet after around 8 months of playing, and every new thing I encounter gets me excited. The game was definitely my game of the year for 2011, and one of teh definitive games of this generation. I could go on, but maybe it would be better to experience it for yourself instead.
This is a MUST PLAY!hellinperson | March 4, 2012 | See all hellinperson's reviews »
I first played this game at my friend's house few years ago. At first, I didn't found it that great. But then, I started playing it a lot and I found it amazing. This is a huge game. I already played it more than 100 hours and I still find it fun. There are a lot of quests that will keep you entertained for a long time.
Better Than OblivionKranitoko | Nov. 18, 2011 | See all Kranitoko's reviews »
I had this game bought for me, and at first, I wasn't too excited about this game for the fact that I really did not enjoy Oblivion. Playing Skyrim, I can honestly say that this is one of the most enjoyable games I have played this year! There are a few bugs, but they're hardly noticeable. Except the jumping part. There is so much to do, such as side quests, main quests, crafting, leveling, getting married, looting, thieving and so much more! Is it the Game of the Year? Quite possibly!
