A Modern Masterpiece
enderx30 | July 23, 2015 | See all enderx30's reviews »I should note that, if you seek anything resembling an objective review here, you should look elsewhere. The Witcher series of books became my favorite fantasy series, beating out LOTR, The Black Company, ASoIaF, and others, after I read them upon finishing The Witcher 2. The Witcher 3 draws from the literary strength of the series and uses its countless allusions in extremely creative and satisfying ways. This goes far beyond fandom for Sapkowski's works; it makes his world poignantly interactive in ways that stirs emotion from the player. Though you don't really need to read the books (or even play the previous titles) to play this game, doing so would immensely complement the experience, and thus I highly recommend doing so. Now then, the game itself. The graphics, despite the downgrade from the trailer, is still amazing. The game is incredibly well-optimized and even some low-end machines can run it well. Wind blows grass, leaves, and particles in consistent directions, and the lighting is stunningly real. To note are the character models which, coupled with great facial animation, really flesh out the characters. The gameplay is intense on any difficulty, though I recommend playing it on the hardest so that all the gameplay elements e.g. potions and signs are required to survive. The world is not fully open-world but rather several very large areas, and even then there is so much, maybe too much, to explore. Bandit camps to hunt down, treasures to find, monster nests to explode... Coupled with the multiple story paths and numerous endings, this game has crazy replay value. The only reason this is not a 100 is because the ending felt rushed to me. For a work that sought to tie the knot on Geralt's tale, I would have liked a more complete, well-paced wrap-up. However, everything, and I mean absolutely everything, is very enthralling and will keep you hooked and motivated. Some side quests are so well-done, they could have easily been the main quests for other games. Not only that, but quests tie into one another and choices have consequences not immediately seen only to be felt later in the world. The intricacy of player choice goes far beyond what other titles have done and truly define the word "interactivity." I think this review, coupled with the other stellar ones below, should convince you, whoever you are, to buy this absolute gem of a game. You owe it to yourself to play The Witcher 3.

Witcher 3
TheJoeFreak | July 23, 2015 | See all TheJoeFreak's reviews »Definitely worth buying. Has everything you would want for an open-world RPG and so much more. The side-quest alone blew me away. It may seem daunting at first, but this installment is actually quite friendly to noobs of the series and has a great lore. Recommend it to any RPG lover!

A great game
NerfedN7 | July 23, 2015 | See all NerfedN7's reviews »The Witcher 3 is a fun action/rpg game with a lot of detail, story and amazing graphics. This game provides enough side quests to keep someone playing for a long time. This game is well worth regular price and clearly the developers want to keep adding DLC to it. I highly recommend this game for all players.

One of the best games I've ever played
bighairyman | July 21, 2015 | See all bighairyman's reviews »CD Projekt Red put so much time and effort into this huge, beautiful open world. The characters, production values, and gameplay have so much detail..especially considering this is a 200 hour game. It will be difficult to play another rpg after this one.

Near perfect RPG
hylke45 | July 12, 2015 | See all hylke45's reviews »So far i'm over 40 hours into the game, and I'm nowhere near done. The sheer size and quality in this game is amazing, all the sidequests don't even feel like sidequests often. The world is really large, but there's pretty much always something within a minute of running from you. The game feels amazing and I reccomend playing it at the 2nd hardest of hardest setting. It makes the game a nice challenge and feels great when you kill a harder enemy. even though it's near perfect I have a few minor issues with the game at this moment: - movement outside of combat feels annoying sometimes, it takes a moment to start walking and stop walking and can be quite annoying - looting isn't always working that well, can't reach something or doesn't want me to get it. - inventory management combined with crafting, to see what you need and all that kind of things could be slightly better HOWEVER this is all (except for maybe the 2nd) going to be fixed in the next upcomming patch, when that's fixed i'd be glad to see it's a 100/100 for me. For the way CDPR handles things and how much I enjoy this game. This doesn't mean there won't ever be a better game or something but as it is it's an amazing game everyone interested in RPGs should play.
