Between our world and the world beyond lie the Titan Souls, the spiritual source and sum of all living things. Now scattered amongst the ruins and guarded by the idle titans charged with their care, a solitary hero armed with but a single arrow is once again assembling shards of the Titan Soul in a quest for truth and power.

Key Features:

Colossal Titans: Explore the ancient ruins of your forefathers and uncover extraordinary and unique titans, each with their own savage attacks and hidden weakness. Find and exploit their faults to slay the beasts and consume the primeval power that lies within them.

Simple Combat: Loose your solitary arrow at the monstrous titans and summon it back to your hand to unleash another forceful strike. Dash and run from the titan’s attacks but do not fear death, as it is both inevitable and plentiful in Titan Souls.

Arcane Secrets: This realm is not without its secrets. Long forgotten titans are hidden in the shadows and prowling through the furthest corners of the land – find them, destroy them, and take their souls for your own to discover the true extent of the power that resides here.

Killing colossi... Again.

KingTed | May 15, 2015 | See all KingTed's reviews »

Titan Souls is heavily inspired by Shadow of the Colossus. The concept is exactly the same : to complete the game you must find and kill all the bosses. This time there are 19 guys to slay and the visuals are more retro than before. However, Titan Souls is slightly better than Ueda’s game. Why? Because the time you spent between each boss fight is a bit shorter. No boring escapade in the countryside this time. You can storm through each door quite quickly! The graphics are, as I said, retro. It’s pixel art and it looks good. The camera is a bit far away from the character but that’s necessary. The musics are excellent. Titan Souls is a fun little game which has the merit of “fixing” what was wrong in Shadow of the Colossus, in my opinion.

2D Shadow of the Colossus

Titan Souls is simply a 2D version of Shadow of the Colossus. Your goal is reach and kill several bosses. There's nothing else to do, but this doesn't mean the game is empty. With Hard mode, the challenge is here, providing additional hours of fun.

More of a chore than a game.

I want to like this game. But, sadly I just can't... Ignore my Steam counter my end time was a little over 3 hours. (played offline) PROS -Wonderful artstyle bosses are 3D while everything else is 2D helps the bosses stand out. -Bosses feel unique Whether it be a Mushroom boss, that if you walk in it's gas your screen changes colors. Or a Yeti where his unprotected behind is his weakspot. -Great soundtrack Walking through open and desolate areas is a pain, at least the calming soundtrack helps make it not so horrible. -Unique concept "One shot, one kill for me AND the bosses?!" CONS -No story (?) It feels like there should be an epic story behind this, and if there is... it's hidden. There are little hints at a story found in caves in such, but still no idea if the devs had a story for this. -No progression system. No leveling. No upgrades. No story. No way to really tell. -Big open areas feel utterly useless No point in exploring if I won't find a secret item, or EXP, or a new quest, etc, etc. And walking 15 minutes to find new bosses is a pain. I would of much rather enjoyed having a hallway, and just having boss doors lined up or something similar. -Frustrating I like a challenge. But I like my games to be fun! This game starts to feel like a chore after awhile. Please note if you are looking for something similar to Dark Souls, you will not find it here. Thanks for reading!

Great music and story.

That game looks very promising, it's one of those old games with the oldest textures and graphics, but the idea behind it is pretty good, the music is so charming and relaxing it almost makes you fall asleep haha. The gameplay is pretty simple, even if the character is pretty small and the map is not one of the best it still has good storyline, and it gets more and more interesting as you proceed through the game. There are a lot of levels, each one different, different map, different atmosphere and music. There are even bosses which makes the game even more interesting and definitely worthing a shot. The only thing i don't like about this game are the graphics as I said, but the gameplay pays for it.
