Very satisfying game
Obsessor | Sept. 27, 2014 | See all Obsessor's reviews »I always wanted to play a Space Marine. Not like in RTS games, or tabletop original, but actually impersonating single Space Marine. Here it is. With all the DLC possible. Space Marine lets you really feel like one of those nearly unstoppable killing machines. Take controls for instance. While moving around you actually feel that your character is encased in a massive, heavyweight armour. As for combat - you have various weapons at your disposal. At first it's just bolter pistol and a knife, later on you get a proper chainsword, bolter rifles, grenade launchers, laser rifles. Even a damn two handed warhammer and a jetpack. Combat in this game is one thing you will thoroughly enjoy. More so, because developers implemented a feature of unlocking new moves and passive abilities making your combat experience more versatile. Graphically the game looks all right for its time of release. I had a minor problem with sound however. It kept glitching, characters were sometimes speaking in a high pitched voice. Fortunately after fumbling with sound drivers I was able to eliminate this annoyance. As for multiplayer, I managed to play few matches. It is basically an arena with countless waves of Orks. A team of four players try to fend off the attackers for as long as possible. You rack up kills, get experience points and unlock new gear for the class that you're currently playing. There are standard ranged marines, melee fighters, and heavy gunners wielding powerful heavy bolters that require a time to set up, and slow the character down a lot, but deal massive damage. To sum up - a solid game that will make you feel like a Space Marine.
