Endless Space:

This galaxy is ancient, and its first intelligent life was the civilization we call the Endless. Long before our eyes gazed upon the stars they flew between them, though all that remains of this people is what we call Dust. A substance found scattered or in forgotten temples, it once gave powers to admirals and galactic governors. The galaxy will belong to the faction that can take control of the Dust and uncover its secrets… A Born Leader: Guide one of eight civilizations as you strive for galactic dominion. Will you control the entire galaxy through subtle trade and diplomacy, explore every corner of the universe to find powerful artifacts and resources, overwhelm other civilizations with your advanced technologies, or destroy your enemies with massive armadas?

  • Endless Discoveries: With hundreds of star systems to explore, different planet types, luxuries and strategic resources to exploit, the mysteries within the Dust to master and a host of strange scientific phenomena to deal with, the player will have no lack of challenges. Hire heroes to become fleet admirals or system governors and discover five hero classes and their unique ability trees and specializations.

  • Space Opera: Experience Endless Space with state-of-the-art graphics and interface, switch between strategic battle decisions and long-term planning. Optimize each fleet for epic battles around contested stars. Create the perfect combinations from dozens of unique ships per civilization. Customize your ship with modules, armament, engines and special mods. The player has a plethora of choices of how to best destroy or dissuade his enemy.

  • Take on the Universe: Play against up to seven opponents and build up – or break – alliances at will. Discover an innovative and dynamic simultaneous turn-based gameplay. Permit instant jump-in for your ongoing online games. Define your own custom civilizations and confront the ones created by your friends.

  • Endless Replayability: Control every new game’s scope, from a quick match-up to an endless war. Generate an infinity of random galaxies where every start begins a new adventure. Modify the size, shape, density, age and a lot more to create your ideal galaxy. Choose from different victory conditions and adapt your strategy on the fly.

  • Creating GAMES2GETHER: Track the dev team’s objectives, progress and achievements. Participate in the creation of the game via the GAMES2GETHER initiative. Endless Space - Disharmony:

Disharmony brings a brand new experience to Endless Space players. A new faction with a unique play style, “The Harmony”, will make its appearance. Battles will be even more intense with the addition of fighters and bombers, battle formations, a new targeting system, a redesigned weapon system and enhanced invasion mechanics. The AI opponents will be significantly more unpredictable with the implementation of the new ‘Adaptive Multi-Agent System’. Prepare your empire for epic space battles!

  • A brand new Faction called “the Harmony” with a single objective in mind: Annihilate Dust! New Fighter and Bomber units that will completely change the shape of combats, especially with the new Battle Formation and Targeting systems

  • A complete rework of the Ship Design interface, including an improved Weapon System that provides family types for modules (melee, medium range and long range)

  • New Invasion mechanics have been added: Prepare your population for Bombardments, Sieges and land Invasions!

  • Expect to face a real challenge when playing against AI opponents with the New Adaptive Multi-Agent System (AMAS)

Amazing Space Strategy Game

Endless Space is an amazing mix of turn-based strategy with RTS space battles. The game may be overwhelming at first with all the different menus and features, like many other strategy games, but the many in-game guides will help you get the hang out it with a little patience. Everything in the game is appealing to the eye and you can go from task to task quite fluidly. When playing, time will literally fly and you'll find that you've been playing into the early hours of the morning, so be warned, it will suck hours out of your life.

True space opera

Do you remember the times when you stayed up all night and played Masters of Orion 2 being unable to just finish the game because by the time you realized you should get off the computer you already clicked next turn and there was just so much to do again? Well, it doesn't matter, because even if you don't for whatever reason you can get the same experience now with Endless Space. The game is not too hard to master and yet there is still a fair amount of micromanagement, good diplomacy, surprisingly good AI and 4 massive tech trees. The game would be perfect but - and now I will just talk about the buts, so you can decide if you can live with the flaws. There are just no space battles. I mean of course, your ships can orbit the same system as the enemy fleet. You can attack them. And then you get a video where ships are shooting at each other and you can choose some cards to try to give different buffs to them. That's about it. It is pretty much as if you would just put it on auto-combat all the time. Ship customization - you might find it a bit limited. You can still customize the ships quite well but can not change their design (each size has one look per race) so no fancy looks for your latest star destroyers - they will have to look pretty much like the one before. Some technical difficulties, such as a fairly unstable multiplayer. For all the science fiction, 4X and strategy fans the game is still a must have unless you find any of the above mentioned extremely off-putting.

If you are looking for a space turn based strategy this is the one to get. The user interface might look daunting at first but tutorial will guide you through which I found missing from sword of the stars 2. Lots of races to choose from and really cool graphics and space battles. Just can't stop at the next turn.

Space turn-based strategy. It hasn't been out long at this point but I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. It feels very clean and crisp (bug free - though I know the forums have reported at least one substantial bug). Yesterday I couldn't help but fall into a '1-more-turn' trap, similar to Civ of old. I found myself up until 4AM the day until I finally passed out at the keyboard. The planet/system improvements are well done, the technology trees are massive and interesting, the hero experience system is rewarding and fun. I really enjoy getting a new technology for weapon/armor upgrades and then retrofitting my fleet. The combat system leaves a little to be desired. You can select Auto or Manual whenever a battle is initiated. Auto - the computer sims the fight. Manual - You select 3 different actions that play out in order (some actions counter other actions, but overall this feels pretty random). This is minimal though, and can still be fun when you guess the right counter actions to your enemies actions. I recommend this one if you're in the mood for some turn-based strategy fun.
