On a mission to drop two secret agents into occupied territory the Sergeant's aircraft is shot down leaving one of his agents seriously wounded. It is now the Sergeant's duty to replace the ailing agent and complete the stealth missions himself. Airborne

The biggest flaw is not with the game design or graphics, they are pretty good for there age. But tons of glitches and bugs that we face while playing. The Third Person camera in a WW2 shooter was a slightly different take on the Shooters of that era like Battlefield 1942 and Medal Of Honor. Game plays just like a standard Third Person Shooter. Hit detection and shooting is fun. Weapons feel and sound just like they should be. But the camera issues are horrendous. There are times when we stuck into environment, camera is clunky and we lose sight of our own character pretty often. Story is your general WW2 affair. But all in all few bugs don't break the game and Airborne Troops feel fun with lots of gunfights and some stealth based sections. A good game with a fair price tag for all WW2 shooter fans.

Familar

This is very similar to games like Hidden and Dangerous. So if you ever played games like that, then you should know what to expect. Gameplay that is fun sometimes and gameplay that is out right annoying. Your character is third person. Meaning, the camera is behind or around him. But the camera is not placed very well. Sometimes you can't even see your character because of walls and such, very annoying if your in a fight. But on the side, it lets you see a broader range. So it has it's own pros and cons. Expect more issues like this, so play at your own risk. Graphics are not a must-play level, so nothing really special. It is bearable though. An okay buy.

Average WWII third person shooter game play.

For a 2003 "third person shooter" type release, Airborne Troops is not as polished as say a, Tomb Raider Angel of darkness was in its day. ( 2003- EDIOS).

I had several map collision issues in Airborne Troops getting stuck briefly just walking hallways, and I once took a bugged ladder completely above the map of play, but the game is still enjoyable, and ran fine on Windows 7 64bit for its age, despite the minor, at time humorous, bug issues. Being able to re-key the keyboard controls with the executable found in the game install files was a huge plus.

I think Airborne Troops could have been further improved if English voice narration by the character "John" didn't sound so much like a bad Don LaFontaine "movie guy" impersonation. Oh well.

If you can catch this title on sale here at GMG again, you like third person shooters, WWII genre, and can stand a few minor bug issues, it's worth a look at the right price.

Airborne Troops is an action game set in the realities of TPP World War II, was produced by studio Widescreen Games. The game takes on the character of John Welsh - an officer parachute troops. The story takes us to France, 48 hours for a memorable day of the "D". While performing the tasks we will visit the largest city of France, farms and so on. As a curiosity it is worth noting that the mission was modeled based on historical facts. Although this game is average, could be said that even weak. After all, for this price, though worth a try.
