Bloody Good Time

Congratulations, you’ve just been cast in your first slasher movie! You’ve been given your big break by the notorious Director X. His methods have produced some of the finest grindhouse films ever committed to celluloid. Famous faces and big names are not what this director is looking for. Fresh faces are all Director X casts, and with your embarrassingly empty resume you’re as fresh as they come! But seven other hopefuls are also in the running, so you’re going to need to prove your worth if you’re to hit the leading credits. You’re going to have to scratch, claw and strike to slash your way to the top. This job’s going to be murder!
Developed by Outerlight, Bloody Good Time takes a new and irreverent approach to multiplayer shooters. The game runs on the Valve’s Source engine, known for classic multiplayer shooters such as Half-Life and Team Fortress.
- Be a deceitful bastard! Flush your enemies in the toilet, crash their heads on their plates when they eat, do whatever it takes to maim and kill other competitors in nasty and unexpected ways!
- Use a full arsenal of wacky weapons including guns, a baseball bat, a frying pan, and even an exploding remote-controlled rat to transform the movie set into real mayhem!
- Clash with up to 8 players online in a zany, first-person shooter, multiplayer experience like no other.
- Choose from a variety of stereotypical B- movie characters, including the bikini beach babe, the stoner, the creepy clown and the super jock.
- From Spring Break Beach to the Horror House to the Vegas Hotel, discover what’s behind the Hollywood set in these unique multiplayer maps.
- Developed by Outerlight, best known for their work on The Ship and the Half-Life mod of the Ship. This Scottish-based developer brings a great combination of humor and quality game play to Bloody Good Time.
- Running on the Valve’s Source engine, Bloody Good Time comes from the same pedigree of classic, online multiplayer shooters such as Half-Life, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike.

This is a game for you, if you like The Ship, the Outerspace's other game. Bloody Good Time offers a very similar gameplay. The controls and graphics are pretty much the same.
However, there is a major difference. This game, unlike The Ship, offers great fun and can be played if you are kind of bored.
There are two problems. This game's Multiplayer mode is DEAD. You can hardly find anyone playing at the same time as yourself. But don't worry, arcade mode is kinda fun, too.
The other problem for some people is, weirdly enough, motion sickness. I get that kind of sickness when playing two games: this one and, you guessed it, The Ship. But as long as you keep yourself for playing it too long, you should be fine.
Deserves much more attention!Plasros | June 19, 2013 | See all Plasros's reviews »
Completely under-rated game, easily worth the tiny price this sells at. Creative, fun ways to kill your opponents. Balance hunger, sleep, and bowel needs (yeah, seriously) to maintain your edge. Swap weapons to kill at the highest ratings. Dodge security guards and cameras. Rack up Achievements to show off. Overall, just a really great time. Playing with a buddy and enjoying the hell out of it!
A rather weird game, but also quite amusing.lambert002 | June 18, 2013 | See all lambert002's reviews »
First of all it's a game designed entirely around multiplayer and there is no singleplayer (except playing against computer controlled opponents) to be had. That said, it's an interesting and almost comical take on the classic deathmatch.
You choose one of several wacky characters and try to kill the others with the equally crazy weapons - everything from syringes and axes to flame-throwers and sniper-rifles. Doesn't seem that different, but wait - there's more!
You have defensive gear like holograms, sheep that put you to sleep or a glue-gun to stick enemies in place. You can use video cameras to steal stars from others and you always have to keep your four vitals (food, sleep, lavatory and health) topped.
Okay, let me explain. To refill these you have to sit down and eat, get some sleep, go powder your nose or use a first aid kit. But doing so leaves you vulnerable to others coming up on you. But failing to do it will make you slow and vulnerable in other ways. Oh, and the guards! You can't just simply go around killing everyone as there are guards that if you are caught brings a negative score to you.
Now lastly, the score. I mentioned that guards give you a negative and that with a camera you can steal some of others. Your score is measured in stars and the one with the most stars win.
So, is this game worth getting? For a short fun time with friends at a LAN I'd say yes, but there aren't really any online servers nor anyone playing it as of now. And playing against bots is only goes so far. But, it's an interesting and crazy idea that deserves a little bit of your attention - but no more.
Funny but now amazing game.yuppy | May 30, 2013 | See all yuppy's reviews »

Yeah, even if it’s mentioned as a shooter, Bloody Good Time is Rather Multiplayer First Person Use What You Can Get…uhm…Ok, so it’s hard to define. This Game is awesome and differs a lot from average FPS games. It is sort of a dm based one, but it offers other modes, like the hunt, where you have to kill only one person, while being hunted too.
You can play BGT against bots, but that won’t give you the same feeling. Because of this, there isn’t any story, it only goes about a movie director, who uses actors/actresses to kill each other for the show…or something alike…
The game looks pretty, or at least the graphics fits the game. There are lots of weapons and items to play with, even traps. I must say, for those who want epic crazyness Bloody Good Time is more than recommended, for others, the game is not a bad one, but don’t expect much. Me personally, loved it :) .
