Thanks god I am not a taxi driver in IRL

The crazier the drive, the bigger is the tip. It never gets old.It never gets boring. You just start and play it till you find out that it's time to eat or even worse...to sleep . Every minute in the game is an hour IRL and thats is enough to see how good is the game.

Just crazy enough to work

If you've played the original Crazy Taxi for the Dreamcast, you'll know what to expect here. Though you should be aware the soundtrack has been changed and the product placement has been removed. While neither may sound like an intrinsically game-changing issue, they really do make the game feel wrong, somehow. Regardless, the gameplay is just as solid as you remember it, so if you can survive without the offspring playing while you drive from building to building, it's still a great experience.

Arcade Classic on Steam

AkaRai | Jan. 5, 2013 | See all AkaRai's reviews »

I'd definitely say it's better with a controller, but if you enjoyed it on the Dreamcast or in the arcade, then this faithful port will appeal to you.

For the few who haven't heard of this game, Crazy Taxi has you pick a driver, and blast through the streets of San Francisco listening to Offspring trying to get passengers to their destination in as timely a fashion as possible, traffic, roads and pedestrians be damned.

There's not much in the way of a story or progression here, though there is a challenge mode to give you something more to play with, but it was originally an arcade game. For what it offers, it's fantastic. Gameplay is fast, frantic and fun, and your taxi controls well. If you're not a fan of Offspring the soundtrack may irritate you, but being a big fan that was part of what made me enjoy this game so much.

Crazy game as the name suggests

Crazy Taxi is one of classic games from SEGA Dreamcast as Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Shenmue 1 and 2, Jet Set Radio and a lot of others. The game must be played. The game doesn't have a story of something like that. The proposal is very simple: be a taxist and do the runs in a specific time. The game is basically an attack the time game, but as a taxist. But it is not easy. Sometimes you will need to go to a far place and the time does not help you to much or you will need to go to difficult places to go without waste some time. These are the challenges that Crazy Taxi will offer you. It is really a race game as the others but with a different proposal. It is good to play something like that instead of playing other very good classic race games as Le Mans from Dreamcast, for example. I only can really recommend this game. It is a classic from a classic videogame.

Classic from Dreamcast

What is the logic of make a game about taxi. What is interesting in being a taxist? These are strange questions for sure. All I can say is that is just for fun. The game is not consequential or something like that. It was made only for our fun. You will basically drive to go to some places taking the passengers and let them where they want. But it is a difficult task because we need to do this within the time limit. So, it is really difficult. But the tense times combines with the fun times. This game is a part of classics that are offered by SEGA from Dreamcast as Sonic Adventure, Space Channel 5: Part 2, Jet Set Radio and others. I think that who played the game some time ago will be pleased to play again and who never had the chance to play will be satisfied to see what is the best from Dreamcast!
