Old, but relevant

Though the games included in t this package may be 15 years old, that doesn't mean they lost their value. On the contrary, playing them today will provide you with some insight in the world of game design in the nineties, a new, different experience compared to current FPS games and perhaps some appreciation for the game style that inspired current AAA games. For starters, Team Fortress Classic is a great online FPS that plays well and requires team effort to enjoy its full potential; also, it's the reason why the popular Team Fortress 2 ("Hat Simulator Edition") exists. The main part of the package consists of the original Half-life, considered one of the greatest PC games in history (for good reasons; it was revolutionary at the time it came out and it's still very fun to play today; I recommend this version instead of the Source version because the latter is poorly optimised and not really the improvement it should have been) and its two expansions (primordial DLCs), Opposing Force and Blue Shift, which provide similar, yet fresh experiences. The former features tons of new weapons, enemies, locations and gameplay elements, and has an overall neat feeling to it. The latter, while not very lengthy and not terribly original compared to the other two, offers some nice alien environments, an upgrade to the visuals manifested in the HD texture pack that came with it, and an actual happy ending for the characters involved, including the well-loved Barney from Half-Life 2 (the protagonist from Opposing Force, Adrian Shepard, is a HECU marine - i.e., from the enemy side in the first game - that proves to be just as badass as Gordon; for some reason, this is his only appearance to the date; hopefully, that will change with Half-life 3). All in all, if you want to see where current FPSs draw inspiration from and are ready for the full Half-life experience, then this is the pack for you.

This Pack includes the Masterpiece game of all time Half-Life, its expansions and TFC.The expansions were developed by Gearbox and they've done a great job, Blue Shift lets you play as Barney (yes, about that beer he owns you) and Opposing Force you play as Adrian Shephard (A HECU soldier). In my opinion the Second one is the best one, since it gives you a lot of new maps in conjunction with the original half life maps and totally different new guns.Team Fortress Classic is just a bonus compared to what we have got here.

Great Games. Great FPS. Great Classics. That's 3 greats. These games deserve way more. This package is perfect, It contains 4 magnific shooters, which all gamers should play. It's true that they look old, but if you can get past the graphics barrier, you'll gets lots and lots of fun. And mind the year those games were released, you'll see that they were way ahead of their time,. And another thing you will notice, is that these games inspired tons of other ones. For this price, this bundle is a must buy.

The Half-life 1 Anthology feels like a great collection, even though I'd love to see Half-life: Source included as well. But on the other hand it's very good even without it. It includes Half-life, Half-life: Blue Shift, Team Fortress Classic, and Half-Life: Opposing Force. Four classic games for a pretty good price. Half-life is a real classic. Although not looking as good as the modern shooters, it is the game which started the who whole Half-life hype. If you haven't played it yet, go play it instead of wasting time reading this. Then there's the Blue Shift, which expands and follows the original Half-life up. Opposing Force is another add-on to the Half-life game, but it's a standalone with its own story (related to the main one though). And finally Team Fortress, which is what was later to evolve into Team Fortress 2, probably the most popular online shooter on steam now. Four must-play games in my opinion, even if only to see howsome of the currently popular franchises started.
