This pack includes many legendary games from the past, and probably you already know them because these are very old games. Although old, here are many gems worth playing, although many of these haven't aged very well. I love them and many of these I've already played them long ago in different platforms. Now on PC many of these are still being updated from time to time, which is nice. Although many fans still think these are the best games ever created, I'm not blind because of the nostalgia and prefer to be honest and realistic about my reviews. Here you can find the best collection of Half-Life games for the best price and if you don't have them, you should consider this pack instead of buying them individually. My favorites are the games for single player because they have one of the best stories I've found as a gamer in many games: Quite interesting, clever with many surprises, and with unforgettable characters. Now technically these games are old, and although some of them still look good for their age (the Half-Life 2 games, for example), they're noticeable old and play as such. You can find some interesting mods to customize and improve the visuals, but you can't wipe the feeling that you're playing games from early 2000's because of their looks, response, options and scripted actions. If you're okay with that, please go ahead and get these if possible, especially for the games with the Half-Life main campaign. They're still great to play and to enjoy for their stories even today.

A fantastic, well-aged series.

These games are a pinnacle of PC gaming, with a fantastic story and excellent graphics for their time, this game is well worth whatever you have to pay for it. Half-life 2 is fantastic and looks good for a game that was made over a decade ago. By the way, don't go looking for third game in the series, you'll be disappointed.

Top of it's game

A collection of an entire companies excellent contribution to the video game industry, Half Life Complete gives you everything you need to tell the story of Gordon Freeman. Everything here is a top candidate in it's genre and must play for virtually everyone. Half Life 1, while dated now, still plays very well and is more than useable to start you off. The Source engine remaster of the game is more easy to digest today from a visual standpoint though. The offshoots of HL1, Opposing Force and Blue Shift are not as essential, but also worth the time. After that, Half Life 2 is a now 12 year old game that looks great, plays great, and is just as fun as ever. To finish the series off as of today, the Episode 1 & 2 expansions are shorter but very well paced pieces of storytelling that will put you on the HL3 bandwagon like the rest of us. Half Life Complete is essential to any video game fan.

The Half Life series in a box!

abelegu2 | Jan. 16, 2015 | See all abelegu2's reviews »

Having given a rather lengthy review on Half Life 2 - I'll keep this one simpler and shorter. I can only say this pack is absolutely worth it - the Half Life experience is truly like no other. Whatever type of gamer you are, Half Life will show you a different universe, a different concept of a game, and of course revolutionising content that has indubitably inspired countless games that came after it. It is a second-to-none, unique, curiously convoluted story that will create an insatiable hole in your being, that can only be partially quenched by Half Life -flippin'- 3, 4, 5 and all the consecutive numbers to the right of the x-coordinate until the universe implodes. Yes, I'm a fan of the series, but also a recogniser of pure ingenuity and this series is sunk deep in it. Especially if you wait for a sale (which are very common and are now a standard of 75%), you are getting a deal of a lifetime.
