The controls are very basic, if you play it in Battlefield series game then you will be right at home. Everything is simplified, there is no cockpit view, the whole game you spend on 3rd person view of the plane you're flying.
And you get to fly tons of fighters, real or fake. You cannot change layouts, all planes come with existing loadouts.
Game's campaign try to make some kind story, which makes no sense whatsoever, it seems they were actually trying to inject some kind of drama in the plot, but all it comes down to is a failure, and yes the voice acting is just as bad as the plot.
All missions feels the same, take off, fly to nav point, kill air targets and ground targets that pops up. There will be plenty of infinite spawning bad guys in most of the missions, as long as you don't finish the objective they will keep spawn, and oh yeah you get infinite weapons, it just take a few second to recharge your missile or bombs.
I finish this game from beginning to end just under 3 hours total, it was fun while it lasted, as long as you don't take it too seriously.

It's hard to pull off this somewhat niche genre, but JASF accomplishes quite a lot in its efforts. Very reminiscent of Ubisoft's H.A.W.X, JASF is fast-paced and big in scale. The gameplay is addicting and, from my experience, nearly flawless in that I did not encounter many game-breaking glitches. The Single player campaign is fairly routine, but you'll likely be spending more time in the multiplayer portion, which is a blast. There's always somebody looking for a game, and they are very welcoming of inexperienced players.
You can't go wrong with JASF. For its price, you're getting a realistic but fun, almost arcade-like flight sim that will last you a good while even after the SP campaign is done. Solid title.

This game is great for hard core flight simulation fans and people who just like an accessible game. You can easily adjust settings to tailor each one to your own preferences, and even just jumping right into a mission is very doable. Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters has planes which are easy to get used to flying, but hard to master if you actually with to complete the many mission objectives.
Both the jets themselves and the terrain you're flying over are very well-detailed, and just flying around instead of completing your mission is always fun, since you'll constantly find new areas to explore. Unlike most combat flight simulator games, obvious care was taken with this one to ensure the terrain is actually populated by good looking buildings and trees - in fact, visually recognizing a target is quite possible. Sound is well-done, and controls, even on keyboard and mouse, are set up well.
The campaign is enjoyable, but short. Multiplayer is likely where you'll spend the majority of most playing sessions, and it is still very much active. There's always lots of folks looking for mission partners, and most of them are quite open and understanding of new users. Definitely a game to get, if you're looking for something with good realism and straightforward controls.

Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters is a good flight simulator. The first time I tried this game, it instantly reminded me of Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X, which is not a bad thing. Both games are alike, both are good. Gameplay in Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters is really addicting and really fun. I have encountered some glitches, but it wasn't anything big. The most satisfying feeling is, when you take some stubborn enemy. The audio is awesome, you really feel a sense of speed when you fly high in the skies. The explosions and gunfire have really nice sounds. The graphics are really impressive. The jets are really detailed, and so are the effects. The lighting in the game is really nice. In conclusion Jane's Advanced Strike Fighters is a really good flight simulator. If you like this game, check out Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X, both games are similar but in a good way.
