Lego the Hobbit, Super Heroes, Jurassic World, etc. All would be nothing if this game did not come out. Some say that Lego Star Wars was the definitive Lego experience. I say, this is! Lego Star Wars put down the ground work, and Batman built upon it. This is what all Lego games have spawned from (this series at least). This game is the first to incorporate a unique Batman story set in the Tim Burton universe. No voices, as this is still the early years of Lego. It added a huge roster of characters to play, a new abundance of puzzles (that have now become staple in the series), and best of all it has Batman! The formula is still here, just not as refined as some of the latest Lego titles. But since it is a Lego game you can expect that the gameplay is pretty much the same as the newest Lego title. It is a winning formula of smash, and collect. It has stood the test of time and this one stands among the pack as the leader. No free roam has been implemented yet, but at least you have the Batcave. :)

Probably not their most successful Lego series, but definitely one they keep coming back to. Each Lego Batman title has a unique story, and I believe this was the first game to include it. Each of the Batman Lego games has brought something new to the Lego series. This one incorporated a suit change mechanic (that could have been better, and in fact is better in Lego Batman 3). It is nice to hear the Tim Burton music playing in the background to let fans know that this is indeed that same character. As bare bones and basic as it is, it still hold up to some of the best Lego games today. Same formula of breaking objects and buying new objects. No dialogue among the characters (that does not come in play until Lego Batman 2). But hey, you get to play as the Joker and Batman side by side.If you are a Batman fan, there is something here for you. If you are a Lego fan, you will enjoy this game. If you are both...you already own this game.
