A Decent Lego Game

"Like Skyrim but with LEGO" "LEGO: The Hobbit" is better than "The Lego Movie Videogame". This game focuses more on completing sensible tasks and not as much on constructing LEGO sets which is preferable. This game has impressive graphics and is naturalistic. The "backgrounds" actually made me feel small in comparison, no matter if I am in the wilderness or in a dungeon, and much of the game is well carved to perfection. The enhanced lighting and shaders work very well with the atmosphere and thus increases realism. There is also combat in the game, though it takes a while for it be reached, and is surprisingly well done. It is nice to have such an addition to take a break from exploring to collect items. What "LEGO: The Hobbit" really lacks is replay value. It is unlikely for players to replay the game more than twice as it is overall very linear. There is no free roam and the numerous roadblocks, like forced minigames that halt gameplay, will become very repetitive. Soon, one will want to scream to be able to run around the wilderness as a LEGO figure but the game does not permit that (of course, one could simply play Minecraft to achieve a similar experience but it does not feel the same). Summary: I give this game a B- due to having a linear method of gameplay but it is good to play for at least once upon being bought at a deep discount.

Good as always

LEGO The Hobbit is another good, fun LEGO game that's surprisingly faithful while remaining very kid friendly. Unfortunately, it's not quite as fun as some of their other more recent releases. It doesn't have as much depth, and it doesn't really do anything new, especially if you played the LOTR games. It's a fine game worth the cash, but it's among the more dull LEGO games.
