Infuriatingly Challenging

I got this game for free and I wanted to try it out. What I got was a mildly interesting experience at first, and then it started to feel like hell. The game itself is pretty good: simple yet challenging gameplay, puzzles that really get you thinking, and some funny hijinx all come together to create a game worth playing. My major problems with it are very annoying. First the walking speed of Mutt is somewhat slow, and if you add to that the annoying way the walls are almost the same color as Mutt, then you might get a bit of an eye strain staring at the red/orange blur on your screen. Second is the way the menu is so difficult to navigate through, what with how it is without text. I was mislead by the diskette icon (which usually means Save) and lost my progress because of it (for some reason it was Load, and I haven't found where you can save yet). Apart from these two sins, I did find a bit of a gem in this game. It's not so bad. I might go back and try this game again. Eventually.

Litil Divil is fun, diverse, challenging and entertaining. The animations are fantastic, although not exactly Space Ace or Dragon's Lair quality, but they really are classic, old fashioned cartoons with lots of slapstick humor and filled with funny moments. It's one of the games that, if you've probably played when you were young, you'll be remembering forever as one of your favorites. It's not mine, I'm really fond of Commander Keane myself, but this one could have been IT if I had the chance to play it back in its diaper days. It might not have the same magic now, but you can see how it immediately pulled me back to those awesome memories. It's a great puzzle game, with platforming elements, fun little mini-games and the unknown of what you might find in the next room. An overall beautiful experience worth your time.
