This game teaches you marine-like combat techniques that you can use in almost any game that requires you to work as a team. This game is almost as real as it gets, from damage amounts, to gore, to sound effects, this game is one of the best. Although, in saying that, this game is tremendously aggravating so, just be careful when playing it...

On a whole the game is fun to play, controls are a little clunky though, The AI in the game works well and the maps are well thought out, but the down side is the mission's can go on a little too long i would rather of had more mission's that are a little shorter plus the lack of vehicles is a shame too, On the plus side of things multiplayer is very good with your friends and the game physics, graphics, sounds are all very impressive.

Red River is a significant improvement over Dragon Rising. I even reinstalled DR just to be sure. I DO miss the editor, but even that was not great in DR compared to ARMA 2. The movement and control of your people is much more accurate and just feels better then in DR where I feel like I'm walking around in mud. The re-playability is terrific and makes you want to try the different soldier classes just to be able to unlock more weapon options. The tracer ricochet effects are well done as are the echo effects of the guns firing. There are some annoyances however such as: you can't skip the long ingress or egress of the missions where you have to listen to Knox rambling about his 10 rules to live by while riding in the back of your transport, be it a chopper or truck. You CAN skip the campaign intro movies however. There are still some issues that need to be addressed, but for someone who likes an FPS with a modern combat focus this is a great option

While most first person shooters are just that: shooters, Operation Flashpoint earned its reputation in a slightly different way. It usually doesn't please fans of casual shooters, but instead it is a more hardcore gamer's choice. The best name for this kind of game would be a simulation of a soldier, or a battlefield simulation. Now the Red River is one of the most successful incarnations of Operation Flashpoint.
When I saw that the game is now available as a four-pack, I decided to recommend it to whoever likes more realism in their games and wants to play a demanding multiplayer military game. If you liked Red Orchestra, you may like Operation Flashpoint as well. Get the 4-pack and share it with your friends.

This game requires some tactics, and give orders to AIs is everything but fun in this game. This realistic military FPS is good, but you have to activate microphone communication in order to play it well, (with your friends of course, don't bother playing with AIs) you can get shot down from 300 meters without having a glance to who killed you. This is a hard and a very demanding game, you will not run everywhere like in BF or COD for a long time before getting downed. Take a long time to plan, observe the enemy with goggles, and attack quickly from all sides are what you should do.
