"Seems like Renegade Ops is the result of Rambo having a baby with the A-Team." - GameSpy.com

The madman Inferno has detonated a devastating bomb in the middle of a major European city to demonstrate the power of his new weaponized incendiary composition: L.V.A. (Liquid Volatile Amonescence).

Paralyzed from fear of more L.V.A. attacks, the world leaders bow to Inferno’s will and allow him to build an empire without hindrance.

Furious by the world leader’s refusal to retaliate against Inferno, General Bryant resigns and takes matters into his own hands. He recruits a team of military specialists from around the globe and forms the Renegade Ops, with the sole purpose of bringing Inferno to justice.

Renegade Ops - review

carlyle | Dec. 31, 2012 | See all carlyle's reviews »

Renegade Ops has a simple structure of the game, is a classic shooter with a view from above, once you have chosen one of the four main characters, he finds himself in a sort of super jeep driving armored different for each character in appearance, but also in some features. Getting good scores during the raids will gain experience to spend to unlock upgrades of various kinds. These allow for example to make the medium more resistant to attack, to extend the reserve of secondary projectiles and so on, ensuring a minimum of customization experience. The levels have a good variety, giving visions of jungles, deserts, ruins, and so on. The maps surprising breadth, so that the developers chose to implement an arrow always ready to show you the way to the next target (primary or secondary). The game manages to entertain in an excellent way, giving some splash of variety, for example, by driving a helicopter, a stolen truck loaded with a nuclear warhead. The best way to enjoy Renegade Ops, however, is in the company of three friends, you can connect online, in local network or via split-screen, limited to two players. With four participants chaos screen will increase exponentially, as well as fun. Is felt in this sense the absence of any additional mode, but the ability to enhance and customize your favorite renegade and quests, provide a good rate of replay value to the product.

Good game but works best with a 360 controller.

One of the best top down shooter I've played. Great story and great gameplay.

You play as someone who's saving the world from a mad man and your tool is a vehicle with special abilities.

You're given several characters to choose from and each one has their own unique ability and there is even a skill tree that really makes a difference in the game.

The game takes you to various locations from the jungle to inside an industrial building to a snowy location. Most of the time you will be rushing from A to B taking out many enemies along the way and while the clock is ticking there are other side missions you can undertake for extra points. This adds alot to the challenge.

The gameplay is extremely unforgiving and it certainly requires alot of skills. It's best done with a friend.

The sad thing is this game works best with a 360 controller. Keyboard and mouse just won't cut it.

Pros: Nice looking, cool destruction engine, lots of coop fun, if you have bunch of friends who you can play together with.

Cons: Keyboard controls seem to be really awkward and the game is only playable with a controller. The game might be a bit too short, but dlc makes up for it.

Very good game.

You are driving a car in a top-down perspective, shooting stuff, crashing (a lot of) stuff and doing missions.

You as the player can choose from different cars/characters, everyone with special abilitys (shield, flamethrowers, speedboost). Between missions you can upgrade your car.

The story is about an evil guy, doing evil stuff to the united world and another guy trying to stop him (you). The story is told in a nice comicstyle and the ingame-graphics looks crispy and colourfull.

I bought the game because I liked Wasteland Angels. A very similar game in gameplay, but this is much superior. It has a lot more missions and the story is much more varied.

I only can recommend it if you like driving/action games. Only flaw: Missions can take a bit long at times.

Worth the wait.

After, what seemed countless delays, the game was finally released and guess what...it didn't disappoint.

If you're looking for good old-school arcade romp in the vein desert strike series, then look no further. The graphics look cool, the handling is good and it's a lot of fun, even more in CO-OP mode.

One recommendation though, play it with a gamepad
