In this side-scrolling action game, you play as Scarygirl – a girl who has been adopted by a giant intelligent octopus and is trying to figure out who the man haunting her dreams is. Traverse unique, extremely vibrant, colorful, and magical worlds in a seamless mix of 2D and 3D platforming action. You can go it alone in single-player mode or grab a friend and team up in co-op gameplay and fight alongside Bunniguru – the giant kung-fu rabbit. And as you advance, you’ll be able to purchase new weapons and new moves, and discover countless secrets along the way. It’s a mesmerizing fairytale, but the creepy-cute tough-as-nails Scarygirl is no damsel in distress!
Amazing Art and Design: Surreal landscape and creatures are beautifully fantastical, created by a critically-acclaimed, award-winning artist and true to the art style that Scarygirl fans have already fallen in love with.
A Curiously Wonderful Stand-Alone Chapter: The game features a new and exceptional storyline separate from the graphic novel and planned feature film, in which Scarygirl finally meets the mysterious man haunting her dreams.
New Moves, Weapons & Upgrades: The game’s upgrade and combat improvement system allows Scarygirl to grow beyond her basic attacks by purchasing new moves, like an the “Anaconda Squeeze” and “Morph Tendrils”, or attachments for her tentacle arm, such as the Rage Hook.
Co-Operative Play: While one player controls Scarygirl, a second can bring Bunniguru’s furious “Fists of Blurry” into the fray at any time. This offline feature allows the two characters to perform special moves together to overcome major challenges.

Scarygirl is not a perfect game and it does have its fair share of flaws, but if you look past them, which I urge you to do, what you will find is a surprisingly solid platformer. It has a wacky story going for it and really interesting graphics paired with good gameplay.
The controls however pretty much demands that you use a gamepad, and if you do they are pretty good. However, if you opt to play with a keyboard as I initially did, you will find the game expecting you to have just as many arms as the octopus in the story. At least it felt that way to me. Also the game did not allow me to change resolution properly, but the gameplay made up for it.
All in all I really enjoyed the game, and it will provide a couple hours of good fun to anyone who enjoys platformers.

Scarygirl is essentially just a typical platformer, but its use of a visual style similar to the wackiness of Alice: Madness Returns sets it miles apart from every other similar title out there. A unique story and easy controls keep you playing right until the end, but average gameplay may not encourage you to give it more than one or two more goes.
Graphically, the game is simply astounding, with different whimsical and fantastic creatures and scenes awaiting you on every level. There's things that are clearly animals, but essentially half-machine, and your character often walks on things that any sane human wouldn't go anywhere near. All this awesomeness doesn't hardly tax your machine, either, so even folks running older machines, so long as they meet the requirements, are good to go. Sound is good, although it somewhat pales in comparison to the visual style. Controls work well, and are your typical platform layout.
The story is interesting, but is not something that is overly original. Playing in co-op with the giant rabbit is hilarious, though. The multiplayer community is of a decent size, although finding available co-op partners can be somewhat challenging.
Overall, a decent game, but it doesn't have a lot of originality aside from the visuals. Would recommend a buy, but don't expect to be racking up piles of hours in it.

Scarygirl is "only" a nice game, so expect the classic things you find in every platform. Jump, kill enemies, take collectibles and so on. The graphic is good as the sound, but the game hasn't any elements that rise it from similar titles. Buy it when it will be on deal, it's not ugly, but it's not a masterpiece too.

Scarygirl is an 2.5D platformer. It has a wonderful art style. The levels have different paths and they are very big. The music is decent and the narrator has a cheesy voice. If you like platformers, you should get this game
