Not Truly Utilizing the "Sniper" in Sniper EliteFarenhiet | July 31, 2015 | See all Farenhiet's reviews »
The Sniper Elite games have some of the best bullet ballistics and sniping mechanics games have seen. It's incredibly satisfying to get the massive distance shot that you've been waiting behind the scope for. The amount of bullet drop and the damage dealt always feels just right. With all the work towards making sniping feel excellent, one truly wonders why the game doesn't put a player in a space to truly utilize it. Missions often put you 40ft away from an enemy soldier in any given direction and just as often expect you to stay quiet or face the wrath of close quarters combat with your SMG. Mind, sniper rifle shots are always loud. There is a mechanic of masking your sniper shots with loud nearby noises, though this severely curbs pacing and restricts the player from orchestrating their own sniping plans. Sniping, however often it comes around, feels far more a rarity over the other gunplay than it should. Sniper Elite 3 feels a whole lot like a generic, mediocre third person shooter with excellent sniping mechanics.

After playing sniper 2 and having fun for a long time, I decided to go for and try this game. Pretty much runs fine on any reasonable gpu. This game is very much optimised, wonderful graphics and locations. We have to manage our ammo and bad guys sometimes wont come unless you've been hit. They mostly sneak around and try to nail you which is interesting...another feature is you get your own medi kit unlike version 2,sound effects are awesome...overall sniping is excellent with its slow motion bullet ability.

I had a lot more fun with this game than with Hitman Absolution. There was a lot of planning and tactics to set up the perfect run through truly massive levels. So many ways to go about beating it. Great amount of replayability. Amazing graphics. Hilariously awesome bullet cam.
Really better than th previouslygarocco | Feb. 8, 2015 | See all garocco's reviews »
Sniper Elite 3 takes place somewhere in Africa and the character is that typical soldier with a shaved head. The missions are very long the difficulty is higher, since you can not be cured completely when you hide, but only partially. Destroy vehicles is not as easy as before, and require about 3 shots at some specific point to be destroyed. The character although well designed, has no striking emotional and seems not to care about anything. The soundtrack is almost absent and only appears in times of stress, which leaves the most eager player. For those who played the previous titles I certainly recommend this as it is with many improvements in all aspects. The graphics, sounds, landscape and the missions are better now.

Everything in the game works well as well. I have not encountered anything game breaking or that unappealing. If the game is too easy, there is a mode that makes all bullet ballistics and physics 100% realistic, which believe me, makes the game MUCH harder. The AI wasn't anything spectacular, but nothing horrible either; it got the job done. I feel like there was a good mix of sniping and stealth, combined with "going loud" action. Voice acting was a little cheesy, but it fits the theme and time of the game.
