In the dark days of the end of World War Two amidst the ruins of Berlin, one bullet can change history…
Sniper Elite V2 is the eagerly-awaited sequel to the highly-acclaimed Sniper Elite, giving gamers the most authentic World War II sniping experience available.
You are elite US sniper Karl Fairburne. Parachuted into Berlin amidst the Germans’ final stand, your mission is to prevent Nazi V2 rocket program technology from falling into the hands of the besieging Red Army. You must aid key scientists keen to defect to the US, and terminate those who would help the Russians.
Take advantage of authentic weaponry, learn how to stalk your targets, fortify your position, set up the shot and use your skill, patience and cunning to achieve your mission. Stealth gameplay is the key as you find yourself trapped between two desperate armies in a race against time.
Watch as the celebrated ‘bullet cam’ from Sniper Elite returns, bloodier and more gruesome than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion flight of the bullet, then targets are graphically rendered in X-Ray as the bullet enters and destroys your victim. Organs shred, bones splinter, teeth shatter, as the true impact of the sniper’s bullet is brought to life.
As World War Two ends and the Cold War begins, every shot counts. Use them wisely.
Sniper Elite V2 features detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, taking into account gravity, wind, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability and more. Guaranteed to provide players with the most realistic simulation of military sharpshooting yet available.
X-RAY KILL CAM (not available in Germany)
Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.
The game features authentic World War II Berlin locations as well as vehicles, weapons such as the Springfield M1903 the Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, and uniforms modeled after the original versions.
USE THE ENVIRONMENT
The slightest changes in the environment need to be taken into account to move into the perfect position, observe the quarry, take the shot and slip away unnoticed.
Players will often find themselves facing a choice of the perfect shot that leaves them catastrophically exposed or a more difficult route that means they can continue their mission.

This is a sniping simulator first and... well, only really. There are some other weapons that you can pick up, but they just aren't all that great. The controls for movement feel pretty awful overall, as well, trying to sneak around or taking cover was very clunky. These things became more apparent toward the end of the game, as it felt like the game was really pushing for a more of a close-quarters battle. However, these things only slightly detract from the main focus of the game - the sniping. The sniping the game is just great. You have to worry about distance and wind resistance when taking long shots, and when shooting you can effect different parts of the enemy's body. For example, shooting them in the leg will bring them down to the ground without killing them, which then allows for you to lure other enemies to that one and take them out. Or shooting a grenade strapped to an enemies chest will make it detonate. Or if you get an especially well placed shot (headshot, special organ shot, or something similar), the game gives you a slo-mo x-ray vision of the damage your bullet has caused. The AI to me felt pretty awful, as well. The shoot the AI in the leg and lure the others to you trap worked in every single situation, often allowing me to get 95% of the kills in the area, and then just a little more exploration was required to clean up the remaining few. I also often like they the AI would charge your position head-on, there was very little feeling of getting flanked or needing to re-position very often. Taken all together, this game is pretty rough. It definitely has its one thing that it does well - and boy does it do well - but a lot of the other areas feel flat. Still, I recommend this game based off of the sniping alone. It's satisfying and rewarding placing that perfect shot that's so far away you can barely see the enemy. Also, in its own grisly and morbid way, it's satisfying getting that x-ray view of that perfect shot that you just had.

If you are the kind of person who enjoys killing enemies with snipers in slow-motion, then this game is highly recommended. It is also recommended to the war game player. The controls of this game are kind of hard in the beginning, but you will get used to it. Otherwise, the gameplay is great with amazing graphics. The storyline is OK, but you will just have fun shooting people in the head.

As of july of 2015 I haven't played any other sniper-themed shooter better than this masterprice. Dynamic and smooth controls. Although the story itself is not that interesting you get to enjoy every single detail within the campaign (WWII). Multiplayer is the cherry of the cake not only because of the realistic physics but also because of the level of skill you can get to posses which is much satisfying. The slow motion is a feature I found unique in the genre. Great title to pick up.

I have myself a liitle bit experience with sharpshooting. This game has its sides. If you play it as stealth game and try to sneak trough enemy patrols and lines, this game tends to be very frustrating. You have been spotted nearly always and if you have get yourself to middle of enemy positions, there is enemy everywhere. And you die always. But if you sneak only a little to get yourself to good firing postion, and try first to locate enemy snipers or heavy weapons like tanks, mgs and armored vehicles..then try to estimate distance. And remember wind. And then festival starts:) Rifle ballistics and physics are like sweet as sweetrolls. If you play with "Sniper Elite" difficulty as I played, there is usually some guys coming to your behind if you can't spot them and eliminate them with your rifle. Remember always set traps and mines. Graphics are good, while antialiasing is some king of fxaa stuff, but if its set to medium it looks ok. When you are familiar with key mappings, game is very pleasant to play. It's not close quaters action game, it is long-distance planning and action game with some kind of strategy elements. Not best game ever because there is not very much freedom but I think this is worth of playing many times. Storyline is ok, there is many epic moments and few very irritating moments. Play with sniper elite difficulty first time with no assistances, but i'd recommend to lower (to veteran or something) enemy smartness from custom settings, because it makes stealth approaches nearly impossible. I'm waiting sales -75% for sniper elite 3 ;)
Shoot Nazis in slow motionZaggeta | May 13, 2015 | See all Zaggeta's reviews »
Nazis have always been the best trope for shooters. They are undeniably the go-to villain as, like zombies, people feel very little guilt in killing their representations. Sniper Elite V2 takes advantage of this and allows players to kill Nazis in some of the most satisfying displays of sniping in any game. Sniper Elite V2 is a sniper simulator and as such, focuses on the presence of wind, distance and other factors rather than just mere tracking aim. The game is not too hard and not too easy and becomes even funner in co-op. If you can get it with a friend, or even without, this is a must play.
