Disappointing it's not included in the main game.afonsobsousa | Jan. 5, 2014 | See all afonsobsousa's reviews »
It's disappointing that a port of a 2001 game has to have separate features sold as DLC. It's OK for what it is - a reasonably fun local two-player battle mode with many new characters that were cut from the single-player mode - but since it was in the Gamecube version, you'd think they'd at least add online multiplayer to make it a worthy purchase in 2012.

As the name suggests, this DLC is only 2-player battle mode, and is essentially a collection of mini-games. Having two players on the screen is awkward and requires additional gear. Given how little content there actually is, this should have been part of the game. That being said, this functions as intended, is relatively cheap, and is a good optional time waster with friends. Overall, if you have nothing better to do in Sonic Adventure 2, buy this.

I'll admit, the only real reason to get the Battle DLC is just for that feeling of completeness. The Battle mode probably is the weakest part of Sonic Adventure 2, though it is admittedly fun to tool around with for a bit if you have a friend with you.
A nice, but unnecessary DLCsweetcuppincake | Dec. 2, 2012 | See all sweetcuppincake's reviews »
This was part of the base game years ago on Gamecube, but with the rerelease on PC, it is DLC. Each of the character types has their own battle type. For instance, Tails and Eggman fight using their mechs and there are races for the fast characters. Without this DLC, you can't use your chao for fighting, but I really don't feel like this is worth the money. Unless you have a friend who will play this with you (local only) or you want the full Sonic Adventure 2 Battle experience, pass on this DLC.
Okay for the price, not really worth picking up thoughstormx360 | Nov. 29, 2012 | See all stormx360's reviews »
The content added in through the Battle mode is two player, so I suggest avoiding it if you don't have anyone to play with, Its hard to review this content as its more down to 1. Do you have someone to play this with? 2. Do you and your second player enjoy the multiplayer experience? If you said yes to both, get it, if not, give it a miss. PS. Multiplayer is local only.
