If you have never played a point and click first person adventure game, this would be a great place to start. The game is filled to the brim with a great, foreboding atmosphere that will always keep your eyes open at night. It has that Lovercraftian charm that makes you feel relaxed and yet that something is entirely wrong.
The plot is outstanding, and it will keep you guessing constantly as to what's going on. Trying to find out where Loath Nolder is, all the while losing your sanity will always make you wonder what is real and what isn't. This game is a treat for any Lovecraft fan, especially for those who have read "Beyond the Wall of Sleep".
The puzzles in this game can be a bit strange, but they're never too difficult to the point of frustration. It is also kind of a short game, but don't let that deter you. It might be short, but every hour of playtime is brilliant.
All in all, Darkness Within and the sequel are both great adventure games that you simply can't miss out. Buy them on a sale if you're unsure, but I'll say right now that getting them at full price is totally worth the money.
Word of warning though. Some segments of this game can be really terrifying, even if you play at daylight. The dream sequences can be really weird and you never know what to expect (The devs actually get dreams right!!!).
-Brilliant plot and atmosphere. -Creepy and truly terrifying at times. -Fun puzzles. -Little to no jumpscares, it works almost exclusively on atmosphere.
-A bit short. -The style may turn some people off.

This game is really a beauty. There aren't many games in its genre that are better than this one. This game is a point and click adventure, with many challenging puzzles and a 360 degree area to look around in.
In this part, the pursuit of Loath Nolder, you have to find out who murdered Clark Field, who of course was very rich. What also makes this game very accessible is the fact that you can choose a degree of difficulty. This way, when the game's too easy you can try to take it up a notch, and when it's too difficult you decrease the difficulty.
