More like a test than a game, Sonic 3D Blast adds the third dimension into the Sonic universe. Sadly, beoing such a test title, they had to cut some elements as high speed and fast long jumps in order to be harmonically functional with the upgraded scenery and maps. Even though, the evolution of Sonic games took a gigantic step with this title.

Sonic's first endeavour into the third dimension is an experimental one. While the gameplay is new and interesting for a sonic game, it lacks the speed and flow of jumping and running other sonic games have. There is a collecting element present as well and it changes the pacing a lot, which might not be for the best. Gathering flickies (the bird friends of sonic) can be kind of tedious.
Nostalgic values aside, sonic 3d blast is still fun to buy and play.

Sonic 3D blast is very different from other Sonic games, here the speed is not the main core of the game and you need to explore and save the Flickies, It was a very acclaimed game thanks to the 3D feeling that the game gives but it is a bit outdated right now.
Overall, It is still a good game.
