Old on the outside, gold on the inside

Let's face it. Nobody is going to buy these games based on the screenshots. Well, maybe some old school gamers but anyone else? Nah. They might be missing, though. Although the graphics are dated the core of the gameplay is solid and easily understandable, even for todays gamers. Sure, there are many things that can and have been done better regarding the UI and comfortability of use since the dawn of these games but they are still usable. Someone might even say they have less clutter in them. Granted, it is a bit of a put off to look at stats that seem like Excel sheets from days past but they do present the information clearly. The challenge is there, oh yeah! These guys present more challenge than many of todays games and a decent narrative, too. Please, be sure to read the manual to learn the intricacies of the UI. And you won't survive too long just spamming ENTER to fight (I tried). I suggest using many thieves since they are good in dodging.
