Description

What exactly is added in the Destroyer of Worlds expansion?

A: This expansion focuses on two new optional features. "Nomad Planets" introduces dynamic topology to AI War for the first time, giving the player new challenges and opportunities beyond the previously-static wormhole network. One of the Nomads also holds a secret weapon of truly dire power (that gives the expansion its title, hint hint). The "Exodian Blade" is a powerful alternate way-to-win, but getting there is a multi-stage journey with a great deal of desperate fighting once things get going. Beyond those, this expansion also adds several new AI types, a new map type, new bonus ship types, a couple new AI guardian types, and the new "Preemptive" AI Plot.

Key Features:

  • Nomad Planets introduces dynamic topology to AI War for the first time, giving the player new challenges and opportunities beyond the previously-static wormhole network.

  • One of the Nomads also holds a secret weapon of truly dire power (that gives the expansion its title, hint hint).

  • The Exodian Blade is a powerful alternate way-to-win, but getting there is a multi-stage journey with a great deal of desperate fighting once things get going.

  • 8 new AI types, from the humorous/annoying “Kite Flier” and “Cowardly” to the monomaniacal “Starship Fanatic” to the aptly named “Brutal”. There’s also “Mime”. Never trust mimes.

  • A new “Encapsulated” map style.

  • 4 new Bonus Ship Types, including the Neinzul Combat Carrier (with Beam Drones, Rail Drones, Spider Drones, and Grav Drones) and the Maw-gone-mad Powerslaver.

  • 2 new AI Guardian types, including the Combat Carrier Guardian (so humans don’t get to have all the ludicrous-drone fun).

  • A new “Preemption” optional AI Plot that lets the AI start taking more direct action against you from the start.

  • 29 more minutes of awesome music from Pablo Vega!

AI Wars is an asymetrical strategy game, you start out as the last vestige of humanity in a universe dominated by Robots. You start with a small base and you must build up. The robots already have bases everywhere else on the galaxy, with operational defenses at each base. Your job is first to survive the endless waves of robot invaders trying to kill you and then push the robots back and reclaim the galaxy in the name of humanity, however the robots will evolve and grow more tenacious over time and as you defeat them. I highly recommend playing this game with some friends. Pros: *The game is incredibly challenging. *Map generator with the potential for colossal maps which provide many hours of gameplay. or tiny maps for quick games. there are a variety of maps settings to play with allowing for amazing customization and replayability. *a large amount of AI personalities for you to choose from *Its entertaining, surviving the robots onslaughts and pushing them back feels incredibly entertaining. *Multiplayer, team up with your friends - survive together and fight back together. Cons: *This game is incredibly challenging, expect to lose, especially at first *Graphics are about what you'd expect from a space indie game. not very good. *steep learning curve.
