MOBA for platforming fans.MrAsterB | June 6, 2015 | See all MrAsterB's reviews »
Interesting concept. It takes virtually every single aspect of traditional MOBA game and puts it not into isometric 3d space, but into compact 2d world. In the end both the game and the players win big, because its refreshing, interesting and highly dynamic. Art style is simple bright and cheerful. Sound is quirky, but very fitting. Optimization is great, it can run on very low-end rigs. It even has gamepad support and with a bit of training you can be just as good as keyboard players if not better due to gamepad adaptation for platforming. Overall its just as competitive as any moba on the market but also as easy to start playing as any platformer. More than that, the game features a wide variety of options regarding AI opponents, so if you not into all that Player vs Player thingie, you can easily play against AI solo or with your friends locally, online, or mixing both, which is absolute delight since no other moba game has couch coop. Highly recommended to try for any fan of moba or platforming games.

A sizeable roster of likeable characters and maps accompanied by a very nice soundtrack. Gameplay is decent, but nothing to wrote more than a page about. Simplicity is a key word here, as this game is very very easy to pick up. Saying all of that, I still believe it lacks "it", the special magical powder to make a game in the Moba genre succeed. A friend of mine was an avid Awesomenauts player, I introduced him to another Moba and he haven't played this game ever since (2 years and counting!).

This is exactly the kind of twist MOBA gaming needed. We have so many standard MoBa games, and then you have the mobe influenced ones like Smite, and Awesomenauts. Yep, I put this game on the same level as Smite. The Champs are all orginal, relatable, highly enjoyable and widely varied. The game play is the kind of fun you would get from playing smashbros. The music is great and the visuals of the game are well crafted, it's like a marriage of old school MegamanX look and visual humor, and modern gameplay ideas, This game draws to keep playing it. Learning the basics is easy for anyone, with enough mastery room to satisfy the most avid gamers. A great game to play with friends, with enough content to keep people coming for more.

I have never played any MOBA games and I am not familiar with their mechanics. I bought this because I liked the art style and I wanted to see what was all the fuss about when it comes to MOBA games. So the game is somewhat simple...at surface! You pick out a champion form the I think 15+ characters. Each character has his/her/its own abilities and playing style. The goal of the game is to destroy the turrets that automatically attack when the enemy gets close and reach the enemy base and destroy it. You gain money by picking cubes across the map, killing enemies and NPCs, etc. The money of course is used for various general upgrades and character specific characters. The game is pretty fun, most of the fun comes from trying new characters and getting the handle on how to use them efficiently. This being a pure multiplayer games however, means that team work is highly important, so going as a lone hero will definitely results in the whole team losing. There are downsides though, the match making leaves something to be desired. Since the game has been out for a whole, there are times that you get matched against insanely good players and it can frustrating. There also people that just disconnect halfway through the game and get replaced by bots that are not half as good. Overall however, the game really good. The goody-ness comes from the colorful character designs and simple yet deep mechanics.
