Mobile game port

Valoo321 | Aug. 17, 2015 | See all Valoo321's reviews »

I never played this game on mobile, and as far as a tower defense games it's a pretty decent one. However, as mentioned in another review, it does suffer from being a straight mobile port. It doesn't have any options to tinker with and still has some awkward layouts and buttons to handle. This includes, I think, it's biggest problem: no windowed mode and decreased resolution. If I could play this in a small window while Netflix or YouTube was playing in a side window, it would be much more enjoyable - as this is one of the best things about mobile games is that you can play them mindlessly while waiting or watching something. If it had this, I would definitely be playing this more. It's a little twist on a tower defense game, however, as you get the chance to take over a cannon while the other buildings that you set up shoot at the enemies, you get to take sniper shots at the bad guys to inflict increased damage for headshots. As far as mobile port games go, it's an enjoyable one to play for a quick little blast but suffers as a direct port without any upgraded options on the PC.

Made me Mad!

AJ1AJ | June 9, 2015 | See all AJ1AJ's reviews »

This game made me mad. I was happily playing the first 2 levels that took 5 mins each and then I went onto the third level. When I was playing this level it took me 5 hours. Then when I died I got really annoyed since I lost and wasted 5 hours. Then I looked at the level again and realised I was playing on endless mode.... This frustrated me a lot. The fourth level was fairly easy but after that I went to the shop. I pretty much bought everything in the shop from the extreme amount of money I made on level 3. That is how easy this game is. You are in a sentry gun and your aim is to kill all the aliens either with your gun or by using towers that can be placed variously around the map. The reason the game is very fun for me is just because it is plain on easy. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it does look like a mobile game that has a keyboard remap for all the buttons (even the massive buttons are still left in). If you don't mind tower defence games and don't mind that it is a mobile port then you should definitely get this game.

A Straight Port of a Fun Mobile Game

Numbi | Sept. 6, 2014 | See all Numbi's reviews »

As far as tower defense games go, Commando Jack is fun, but it does suffer from being a straight port. This means no resolution options and mobile stuff such as "daily coins" and such everywhere. At least all micro-transactions were removed, but this does mean the game is now almost too easy in normal mode. Fortunately, there are multiple difficulties and there is plenty of content to keep you busy. The "stunning graphics" bullet point in the killer features list is disputable, but I did find the enemy designs to be charming (apart from the worms which are just plain icky!) Overall fun, but know what you are getting into.
