  • A Game of Dwarves

A Dwarven Prince on a quest to reclaim his people’s stolen land will take you on a great journey. Explore a continent filled with buried treasures and unearth mysteries that have laid hidden since the Great War. Take charge of your Dwarven settlement while mining, exploring and utilizing your resources with a combination of strategy and management.

  • A Gane of Dwarves: Ale Pack DLC

The Ale Pack is designed to bring more happiness to the daily lives of Dwarves. Because after all, what is a Dwarf without beer? The Ale Pack provides your settlement with the legendary Ale Tree and Mead Barrel. Never again will your Dwarves need to brave the deep underground with dry throats.

  • A Game of Dwarves: Pets DLC

The underground can be an empty and lonesome place for dwarves. In times past it was common for Dwarven clans to have pets and companions to make the settlements more lively and festive. The pets would keep the Dwarves company and even defend them in times of need.

  • A Game of Dwarves: Star Dwarves

Many dwarven clans disappeared during the Magic War. One clan even went where no dwarf has ever gone before; space. Now they have returned and brought with them new & strange technology for their dwarven brethren.

Dwarf Fortress's Forgiving Little Brother

A game of dwarves is focused on building a dwarven empire by keeping your people fed, happy, and safe from underground beasts, while also gaining riches by mining precious stones. The game play focuses on managing what your dwarves are doing and making them efficient at it. Dwarves getting tired on the job? Construct bunk beds and chairs to provide resting areas. Dwarves getting killed by giant spiders? Have an outpost set up near potential threats and trap hallways. This may sound tedious, making sure your people are always happy, and it is. But is also very addicting. My problems with the game is that 1) you'll fin yourself using the fast forward button a lot, almost to an extent of having it on as a requirement, 2) The dlc is complete trash except for a choice few, most being 99 cents of wall retextures and reskins of things already in the game. The ones that add functionality are 5-10 dollars like the pets dlc. Luckily with this bundle you'll be saving a lot. Overall I would say a buy, but you may want to wait for a sale

More approachable thand Dwarf Fortress

ivangroznyi1 | Sept. 11, 2013 | See all ivangroznyi1's reviews »

The Game of Dwarves was one of the games which followed popularity of the excellent indie game Dwarf Fortress. A Game of Dwarves allows you to take care of your own dwarf clan, leading it during explorations, journeys, and building and expansion of their own city (or stronghold to be more accurate). The game surely looks better than Dwarf Fortress and is more accessible to casual gamers, where Dwarf Fortress required a lot of determination to learn and appreciate its complexity. Now in this pack you also get a nice choice of DLCs, which expand the game: the Ale Pack, adding Ale Tree and Mead Barrel to your game; the Pets Pack, obviously adding pets; and finally the Star Dwarves adding strange space technology to the game. With so much content, the game is surely worth its price for every fan of the little folk.
