Description

"Reminiscent of The Sims, this ingenious game breaks the mould of the traditional management simulation in some style, as you attempt to keep your men happy on and off the pitch. From chalking out the tactics to keeping the party boys out of the tabloids, I's an absolute riot. Best Moment : The sight of your squad starting a conga line outside the training ground at 6am after a night out. Tut Tut" - Fourfourtwo Magazine Review

Lords of Football is a whole new sports lifestyle simulator, played in God Mode. The everyday routine of football is brought to life, simulating footballers' training to improve their skills and all the drama and real-life distractions that unfold during a normal season. With easy drag-and-drop navigation and by learning each footballer's personality, you must oversee all your footballers and resources to bring the team up to international competition level. The game takes place in an immersive 3D world with a customisable team, and rewards success with club upgrades to expand this exciting, vibrant football simulation.

Key Features:

  • Genre defining – A football lifestyle simulation played with an easy drag and drop God Mode style interface. It crosses genres to bring you a new football experience, involving you in both the match and the personal lives of your footballers. This is unique, a game like no other!

  • Matches - Give match commands to your footballers in a way unlike any other football game. Your team's ability and performance will not only depend on your tactical strategy but also on how well you look after them on and off the pitch.

  • Personalities - Each footballer has his own unique personality and distinct behaviour. They will react in different ways to events that take place within the world, as well as your choices having a direct effect on their mood, for better or worse.

  • Off-pitch activities - Interact with and affect the personal lives of your footballers. Keep them happy with fun free time activities in the pub, club and restaurant while avoiding negative addictions and bad habits.

  • Training and drills - A new level of interaction is available during the training phase by offering a customisable 3D space, assigning drills or closely examining each footballer’s performance in real time.

  • Customisation – With the ability to configure every aspect of your team's appearance — name, playing kit, logo and even individual footballers' names — you have the ability to live your football dream and run your very own club.

Quirky, but good.

A unique twist on the soccer management genre. It adds a bit of Sims-gameplay to your team. There are multiple things you have to manage besides just the playstyle of your team on the soccer field. I have a bit more fun with this game mainly due to unintended comedy by players. Graphics are a bit outdated compared to today's games but I mainly blame game's budget. Sound is decent, but definitely needs more work. Overall I would recommend this game if it has a discount.

Quite enjoyable.

While you can spot a lot of Sims aspects it is still quite good as a simulator. I actually prefer this over Football Manager 2014 way more and yes if your a little tired of Fifa or football manager this could be a nice, good substitute. The DLC for this might make it just a bit more interesting and if your standards are set too high for this you may just not like this from the get go. Im very pleased with this however and I hope you will be too!

Lords of Football - review

Neapolis47 | Dec. 4, 2013 | See all Neapolis47's reviews »

Lords of Football allows the player to assume the role of the coach of a football team . The originality was born , however, when one realizes that , instead of wages and transfers , you have to worry about a 360 degree view of their players , starting with the management of the training to follow the adventures of their nightlife. We did not finance management and communication with the media view in Football Manager , but this is rather well a focus on the players and their privacy . Choosing the team, we become aware of the personality of our players, summed up in three words and a phrase that identifies psychology. Dragging players around the field , so you can choose which of these should train and what should , for example, physiotherapy or gym . After a few matches played , however, you will find that the gameplay is a mix of The Sims , The Movies and Football Manager , is too schematic and certainly very repetitive. Next to this there is still a positive representation of the matches, which may also give some satisfaction .

You can jump in with only a basic understanding of how the game works and immediately start having fun. But with a little bit of practice, you’ll unearth the complexities of the game. The more time you spend learning the game, the more you’ll feel rewarded. This game is challenging and accessible at the same time. There have been plenty of game about football and I've been playing football game since Microprose Soccer, but there have been none like Lords of Football. The game delivers really nice football simulation and many innovations are great. You don't have just the tactics, you also have to take care of personal problems and strange behaviors of players. Commands during the match are also a good idea and the punishments are just amazing. Surprisingly well done for an indie game and no official licenses.
