Description

Praise for Particulars:

The game feels fantastic, itís a joy to whiz around the simple environment. This game illustrates the idea that a game doesnít have to be visually packed to look good; indeed, its artistic style is reminiscent of flOw. - David Ferris on Kotaku Australia

Itís a story-led, arcade puzzle game that seems to have a lot of intelligent thought about it. - Cara Ellison on Rock, Paper, Shotgun

I haven't cried playing a video game before; it's not like it's a habit. But there's something about the loneliness of being a down quark all alone in a subatomic space that really underlined the joy in finding an anti-down quark to combine with. - Grant Howitt for the Guardian

Particulars is a game with a unique combination of arcade-action and puzzle gameplay, set in the mysterious world of subatomic particles.

Taking control of a single quark, you must negotiate the fundamental forces of the universe. Other particles will push and pull at you - you'll always be on the brink of losing control and being dragged towards annihilation!

Woven through the game is the story of Alison, a young physicist with a troubled past. Her journey through the subatomic world is drenched in memories (both good and bad), and will ultimately lead her to some surprising revelations.

Key Features:

  • Based on actual particle physics: Enter the world of sub-atomic particles and take part in the interactions between them.

  • A puzzling narrative: Particulars is a game which blends arcade and puzzle gameplay with an engaging story about a troubled young scientist.

  • Over 100 intriguing levels: Explore the four fundamental forces of the universe over ten chapters of increasingly complex play.

  • Dig deeper: The Particlepedia provides information on each particle in the game, the differences between the game world and the real world, and links to other information sources.

MAD SCIENTIST!! CONTROLLING PARTICLES!? MADNESS I SAY! But it is fun madness! Be the man who manipulates particles to your own will to do you own bidding! Don't allow those pesky sub-particles destroy the very essence of your being! Silence them, control them and becomes the one and only TRUE particle in all of the particle world!!!

Science at it's best

This game concept is brilliant i would say. The concept of you a player controlling a particle that is looking for other particulars to combine together but there are some sub-particles in the world that wants to destroy you.

They are represented by charges. You have a specific charge and you have to find others that will attract to you and finally merge. Game is great so is the gameplay. I feel there is no storyline but there is honestly no need for it. Since it's a arcade puzzle game i feel it has a unique art style and gameplay that no game has ever dared to try before.

Be warned that the game maybe short and not of many people liking but i recommend you to buy the game when it is on sale. Definitely worth the try.
