Alternates Epic and TediousFeriku | Oct. 31, 2013 | See all Feriku's reviews »
I have mixed feelings about this game. The entire time I played it, I couldn't make up my mind about whether I liked it or not. It's a point-and-click adventure game, and many of the gameplay segments were tedious. The puzzles were simple, although a few confused me simply because I didn't know the exact place to click, or where to stand to see the "interact" icon. The cutscenes were over-the-top, and I have to give the game credit for sheer enthusiasm--it was clear in every cutscene that the developers wanted to create an epic sequel to Dracula. There were some cool moments, and at some points while playing, I found that I was having fun. There were some interesting details related to Dracula and the plot that kept my attention. Overall, even though I can't call it a particularly good game, I'm glad I played it.

This is a great game but as you can probably see from the pictures the quality of the picture could do with improvement. The storyline is good, it has some good bits and some bad bits so overall 50/50. There are some scary bits that make you think. I would say get this game when its on offer.
Passable, but atmospheric vampire adventuredarkyhbk | July 6, 2013 | See all darkyhbk's reviews »
Dracula Ressurection is a mediocre adventure puzzle game based on Bram Stoker's famous novel. Its main strength is , undoubtedly, its sound effects and soundtrack. The combination between the two and the well drawn, dark visuals often leads to very scary moments, not thanks to the situation at hand, but to how the static, scarcely illuminated corridors look and sound. Unfortunately, though, the voice acting is really, really weak. The actors sound in no way convincing, nor do they recreate the desired Transylvanian atmosphere at the slightest. It's a shame, really, because otherwise the audio-video combination would have been almost flawless. As far as gameplay is concerned, it's pretty much a classic point and click adventure game, in which you'll spend most of your time exploring and collection objects. Moving involves clicking, and the camera moves to another 360° angle, something like street view in Google Earth. This is classy, but it might break the atmosphere a bit for those unaccustomed to it. The puzzles you have to solve are not too challenging, and while the story is indeed mysterious and feels like Bram Stoker stuff, doesn't really excel in any way. The result is a good looking adventure game with a superb soundtrack, but not much else to go along with it, which is a shame really.
Older game, good for Dracula fansgrunts00 | July 6, 2013 | See all grunts00's reviews »
This game originally came out in 1999, so its hard to compare to today's standards. However, I'll try my best to describe this game.
There are a number of pros and cons to this game:
Pros: - Good graphics and sound effects (for an older game) - Some decent puzzles, nothing was extremely mind boggling - It follows the story of Dracula well. - Controls were easy to figure out, mostly all mouse.
Cons: - This game was a nightmare to start up and shut down - Most puzzles were extremely easy and many were entirely unneeded.
Overall, this game is mostly the outcome of what happens when a lot of money goes into graphics and little goes into gameplay. It's an interesting game to try out sometime.
