"The one thing worth pointing out between the various platforms is how cool Borderlands 2 can look if you have an awesome PC. The PC version allows plenty of tweaks to draw distance, frame rate and more." -

"Borderlands 2 doesn't reach far beyond its predecessor's scope, but it does do almost everything better. Additions, refinements, and fixes all combine to create an appreciably improved experience, one that fully delivers on the promise of the first game." -

A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin!

Borderlands 2 furthers the distinct blending of First Person Shooter and Role Playing genres to create the true evolution of the Role Playing Shooter. Team up with up to three other players for four-player online goodness, sharing mayhem as you spend hours leveling up your character and equipping them with one of the millions of badass weapons.

Borderlands 2 features a new visually stunning array of procedurally generated guns, shields, grenades, artifacts, enemies and more. Choose one of the four new character classes to be taken through a carefully crafted and connected story to all new and surprising environments across the living planet of Pandora.

Make new friends, arm them to the teeth and fight alongside them on your relentless quest for revenge and redemption.

Key Features:

  • All-New Characters and Classes:

Four all new playable classes including the Siren, the Commando, the Gunzerker and the Assassin. Step into the role of the Gunzerker, whose highly deadly skills allow him to dual-wield any two weapons found in the game. Not only that, you will build on that skill to do more things with two guns than you ever imagined possible. Dual machine guns? Cool. Dual rocket launchers? Of course! Dual Sniper Rifles? Sure, if that’s your thing! Want to try other styles? More tactical perhaps? There are multiple classes to choose from!

  • Play Online with Friends:

Share your adventures with friends both online and via LAN through a seamless system enabling you to drop in and drop out of a campaign without ever having to restart the game.

  • World Connected Story:

Left for dead in the frozen tundra of Pandora, begin your quest of revenge and redemption as the story drives you closer to the Hyperion Corporation and its evil founder, Handsome Jack.

  • New Badass Gun System:

Millions upon millions of possible weapons means tons of new and innovative ways to engage foes on Pandora. Fire, electricity, corrosive acid, and more will all be at your disposal.

  • 87 Bazillion...Everything:

In addition to the new gun system, you will lust after procedurally generated shields, grenades, Relics, class mods and much, much more. And you thought the original Borderlands had a ton of loot!

  • Brand new environments:

From the arctic tundra, through the dangerous grasslands, past the mysterious corrosive caverns to beyond, discover more of the unpredictable world of Pandora at every turn!

  • Brand new enemies:

Hulking, gorilla-like Bullymongs, vicious predatory Stalkers and the Hyperion mechanical army, run by Handsome Jack, are just some of the new enemies you will face.

Customer reviews

In a word: Fantastic! Other devs, pay attention.

These days, it's difficult to find a game/dev that gives customers everything they want with little to know tradeoff. We players want it all. We want an engrossing story with dynamic characters, impressive graphics, deep player leveling, a long campaign, and the addition of an acceptable multiplayer component for more content (preferably not just tacked on as an afterthought to say it is there). Borderlands 2 somehow delivers on all these things. If you don't know what it is, the Borderlands franchise popularized a hybrid FPS/RPG style which took a straight up, cell-shaded shooter and combined it with questing, loot, and character leveling from RPG titles. It wasn't the first franchise to do this (others like Bioshock, Deus Ex, Fallout, etc. came before), but it put a stamp on this blend with a particular flare for color, humor, and seriously unserious fun. Borderlands 2 improves on the Borderlands formula in very minor ways. For example: It is slightly more challenging combat-wise, but this adds to both the appeal for, and usefulness of, the online co-op that is always present during the campaign. Let me just say that I can't remember a game that had persistent, public co-op function this well. Any player can start a game, designate whether they will allow friends or random users to join, and then have well-balanced teammates show up at will to help as they make their way through. It's a blast and it has worked for me without headache. Other differences are: picking up necessity items like cash and health (and maybe ammo, I can't remember) no longer requires holding a button to draw items to you. Now, just walk over/near these items to automatically snatch them. Levels and perks have been tweaked, and the actions are different. But, overall, it is basically the same game with an entire new game's worth of content and a second batch of characters (the original characters are in the game tho). Just as it should be. If you are apprehensive because there is a ton of DLC to this game (according to Steam, 42 different content and cosmetic packs), do not worry. What is unforgivable is when basic, in-game content is totally lacking and users need to buy that as DLC to have the full experience. Not the case here. In no way should you feel that this is required to enjoy the base game. All of the necessary content is included. Why, oh why cannot other devs take a hint from 2K/Gearbox on this one? I consider this an all around enjoyable game that makes both single and multiplayer an easy way to have loads of good fun.

Unlike any other

You might think "Oh wow, another FPS Shooter. Aren't they getting old now?" Yes, this is an FPS shooter but what makes it different is that I do not believe that this may ever get old. Overtime you play, the experience is packed with jokes, crazy action and overall fun gameplay. With the different distinct classes, you be sure that the game will deliver a fun experience no matter what you play style is or could be. But the main objective of Borderlands 2 is I'd say, to be played with friends. While you could play single player, most of the joy come out with co-operative play. The next thing to love about this game is the character, mainly, the NPC's each and one of them has a unique personality. Either the Ironic Doctor (I doctor who probably kills more than heals, The main villain of the story, Handsome Jack, who, being a villain, you would more likely love more than hate and just can't what for that next speech of his. And of course, we have Claptrap. The robot that you just can't stop smiling at. His jokes are that kind of ones that you want to just give a smile or a giggle at. So with all that, Borderlands 2, with the addicting shoot and loot play and the amazing replay ability, it would be sad not to grab this game.

This game combines many aspects of other game such as being an fps, an rpg and having a great story! what more could you ask for. There is so much to do in the massive world of Pandora that you will never find yourself idle or bored. My point being that for the amount of money that you will pay, you will receive WAY more hours of game play than any other game, and its such a re-playable game too. My only thoughts on improvements would be to make it massively multiplayer, but that's just me :P

Definitely worth your money

This game combines many aspects of other games into one, it's an fps, an rpg and it has a great story. What more could you possibly ask for. Now if I am perfectly honest I did find the beginning of the game slow to start off with, but then I am also rather impatient. Once you're deep enough into the story though there is just so much to explore that you will never find yourself bored or tired of this game. It's one of those games that are just so re-playable. I think the main point I am trying to make here is that the amount of money you will spend on this game is far less than the amount of game hours you will receive from it, making it far more value than most other games. The only thing I think I could have possibly asked for would be for it to be massively multiplayer, but that's just me ;P.
