Description

"The one thing worth pointing out between the various platforms is how cool Borderlands 2 can look if you have an awesome PC. The PC version allows plenty of tweaks to draw distance, frame rate and more." - IGN.com

"Borderlands 2 doesn't reach far beyond its predecessor's scope, but it does do almost everything better. Additions, refinements, and fixes all combine to create an appreciably improved experience, one that fully delivers on the promise of the first game." - Gamespot.com

Overview

A new era of shoot and loot is about to begin. Play as one of four new vault hunters facing off against a massive new world of creatures, psychos and the evil mastermind, Handsome Jack. Make new friends, arm them with a bazillion weapons and fight alongside them in 4 player co-op on a relentless quest for revenge and redemption across the undiscovered and unpredictable living planet.

Story

Borderlands 2 follows the story of four new Vault Hunters as they fight to free Pandora from the clutches of Handsome Jack, the brilliant, charismatic, and utterly despicable CEO of the Hyperion Corporation. Players will fight across the whole of Pandora to stop Jack from awakening an ancient alien evil known only as "the Warrior." Their quest will bring them into contact with some familiar faces from the old game – most notably, the original four Vault Hunters: Roland, Lilith, Brick and Mordecai. They, along with some brand new characters, will help players defeat Jack, destroy the Warrior, and save Pandora.

Fantastic game

This is an amazing game. The gameplay is fantastic - numerous different ways to build your character, the first person shooting element doesn't ware out over time, and the fights are very exciting. Add in to the mix a hilarious storyline, a very easy to follow quest and map system, and the fact that up to three of your friends can drop in at any time and you have an AMAZING game. If you like shooters, leveling, questing, or hilarious storylines - this game is for you!

Surpassed my expectations!

I originally received this game for free when I purchased my video card late last year and I honestly did not know much about the Borderlands series. I had seen it before but never gave it a second look, boy was I missing out. I finally gave it a shot after my friend who got the same video card tried it and said it was really fun. I installed it and I have not looked back.

The beginning was a little so-so but after you start leveling up and looting with your friends it becomes so much just fighting over loot and taking on the crazy enemies. It may seem repetitive to do the story over a few times but the harder difficulties actually make it more fun and dynamic. I honestly love this game, but it is definitely more fun to play with your friends or a set of people you know online.

New areas and characters in the same formula

The game itself retains the same formula as its previous game. The game still have you go around shooting things for quests and loots. Except this time you take control of new vault hunters in a new story line. You will see many familiar faces from allies to enemies. Everything from the first game is in it. New introduction in the form of gears and raid bosses. Gears are pretty self explanatory but these raid bosses will certainly provide a great challenge to the game. If you enjoyed the first one, you will definitely love this one.

Twice the fun and badassery!

Alekzis | May 18, 2013 | See all Alekzis's reviews »

Borderlands 2 improves on everything from the original borderlands while maintaining the same level of humor and fun that made the first game a hit. One of those improvements includes an actual storyline for the sequel which has Handsome Jack as the villain, one of the best villains and characters in recent memory in my opinion, guy is both hilarious and a complete asshole at the same time. Good story, great characters, great voice acting, and funny dialog combined that with the awesome graphics and artstyle and you got Borderlands 2. Also the improvements are noticeable when it comes to the PC port, the first borderlands was disappointingly a bad port but Gearbox did their homework with this one integrating the basic features we expect for a PC port. So far i've put 243 hours in this game, making it my second most played game on my steam library, trust me when i say it's a lot of fun and a game that is well worth the price, specially when playing with friends but do expect tougher enemies as the number of friends increases to maintain a balanced level of challenge. Great buy, highly recommend it!

Amazing!

krnzmaster | May 17, 2013 | See all krnzmaster's reviews »

This game is extremely fun! Especially when you have friends to play with. The story of the game intertwines with the first game and brings back the characters from the first game as well. The new characters are a lot of fun to play with and they upgraded the mechanics of the game a LOT. However, they could have done much more to make the game even better.

The gameplay is much better compared to the first one, but it still has the same defects. The story is great, but can get very repetitive at times. Overall, the game was great, and co-op makes it very fun, but if they had worked on it a little more, it could have been much better.
