Rise of the Argonauts is a very average game. It takes place in a typical fantasy greek setting where gods are real and so on and so forth. The game is all around meh. Rise of the Argonauts is what you would expect: the story of the Argonauts, except you run into characters that aren’t in the original tale. The story takes the kind of twists and turns you would expect, and the combat, while decent, has been done better in other games. The classical greek setting helps set this apart from stereotypical medieval European fantasy settings that you would expect from this kind of game, but that’s not enough to make it as good as, say God of War. Rise of the Argonauts is fairly middle of the road: it does enough good to not be a bad game, but it doesn’t do what it does well well enough to make it a great game. Pick it up if you love greek mythology; you’ll probably enjoy it more than the average gamer.

Rise of the Argonauts is a game that those who like Greek Mythology will find enjoyable. If you don't have an interest in that, then you may want to skip this one. The game has simple gamplay that is just adequetly fun and has many glitches throughout it, both graphical and audio. At some parts of the game, the audio messes up and makes all of the characters sound like slow motion robots. This happened to me about every 10 to 15 minutes and lasted anywhere from 5 to 7 minutes. I'm not sure if this happens to other players though. That said, I enjoy Greek Mythology so I did enjoy the story and the adventure. The game has a high adventure spirit and never gets boring. The game was the perfect length (12 hours) and ended just when you were ready to wrap it up and move on.

It's neither a God of War nor any other RPGs. This is something like a movie whose director is just you. You make your own choices, you make your own history, you make your own story, you choose and follow your own fate. This game is absolutely fantastic. Yes, it has some bad flaws such as dated textures, stiffed animations especially on characters' faces, no mini map, a little stuttering and frame drop. But the good definitely outway the bad.

If you are into the mythology the game offers and like action RPG's, you are going to enjoy this game. It also offers a nifty dialog system that offers some nice (if not very meaningful) choices. The script was decent enough even though you probably heard this story already and the voice acting was nice. This may not be the best game on the market, but I didn't experience any glaring bugs or broken mechanics when playing this game, the gameplay was smooth, the levels were diverse enough and never outstayed their welcome.

This game is not perfect, it has some bad flaws such as bad quality textures, stiffed animations, the exploration parts are very interesting but it has awesome voices for the characters and epic music, the excellent fighting system with freedom to fit your combat style and finishing moves with a good use of slow-motion. The skill tree and experience system will keep you busy for hours. If you want an epic adventure in the Ancient Greece with monsters and some hack & slasch action, this is your game.
