This DLC adds 4 new Call Of Duty style maps which encourage faster paced gameplay and frantic battles which deviates from the usual large maps that BF3 tends to offer. The new game modes also copy CoD style modes. If you like CoD get this DLC!

Close Quarters takes a break from the Battlefield norm, confining the battle to smaller, massively destructable maps featuring a skyscraper roof, with a news helicopter with the brightest search light imaginable, an office building with an underground carpark, full of explosions and non-stop car alarms, a castle with a water feature and cellars, normally laced with C4 and an industrial complex, featuring multiple levels, bridges and long falls if you time your jump badly. CQ was a very touchy subject for a lot of veterans of the Battlefield franchise, a game based around large scale combat. Its enclosed, meatgrinder feel wasn't to everyones taste. DICE/A were clearly trying to tempt in some of the CoD/CS crowd and it worked. Whilst I mostly play Battlefield for the scale and possibilities, as an ex-competitive CoD player, CQ added that ability to play a Battlefield style game mode, but on a small(ish) map. It enables you to jump onto Battlefield for a quick match, instead of being pulled into a drawn out battle. The (almost) fully destrucable map elements added a dynamic feel to the maps; camping became harder as the plaster walls you're hiding behind suddenly becp,e swiss cheese when you've been rumbled. It created a fast paced game with (somewhat) limited camping opportunities. The fast flag cap resulted in groups roaming flag to flag, creating a very mobile and ever changing match. Whilst admittedly not a traditional Battlefield set up, Close Quarters is great if you just fancy a quick, kill'em all fight with Battlefields great graphics and feature set.
Only 75/100 as after the amount I've played it, its grown a bit weary

You no longer have to worry about that Battlefield 3 along with its Close Quarters has become a better copy of the Modern Warfare 3. Close Quarters brings a very different gaming experience that is not for everyone, but the fact that the game's massive multiplayer now possess more of its pleasant possibilities is undeniable. Those of you addicted to tanks and planes should pass Close Quarters and await more open-ended maps in the upcoming additions.

Close Quarters is a Call of Duty like expansion for Battlefield 3. It's a great dlc for you if you like team deathmach in the vanilla Battlefield. The "HD destruction" is fantastic on the maps, and the new game modes like Gun Master, and Conquest Domination makes Close Quarters highly recommended if you like CoD's gameplay.

In the Close Quarter pack the developer have decided to release some maps where the gameplay is similar to its rival Call of Duty: the maps are really small and enemies are always behind the corner. If you play these maps you will pass most of your time with a shotgun. The good point of this expansion is that all maps have the same characteristics, so if you don't like this type of gameplay you can avoid to buy this pack. In the end the maps are well done and fun, but far from Battlefield 3 gameplay, because maps are really too small and there are no wehicles
