Beat Hazard
Description
"Beat Hazard is a short and sweet [...] investment that is given solid longevity as long as you like the tunes in your music library." - IGN
"Conceptually beautiful, it takes the basic mechanics of a twin stick, top-down shooter and then essentially procedurally generates enemies - and therefore entire levels - based on the ebb and flow of any given music track" - Eurogamer

Revolving Around Your Music!
thegaminglyfe | June 19, 2013 | See all thegaminglyfe's reviews »Beat Hazard revolves around you importing your music (or using some of the music already in the game) to make enemies fight you to the beat of the song. For example, if you import a rock and roll song. The song might start small with drums slowly playing. The game will know this and will bring asteroids to come at you to the beat of the drums. And so on, they will keep sending different enemies at you depending on how intense and the beat of the song. The controls are very smooth and it's very easy to control your ship as you fly around shooting things. The Menu is simple so you can find your songs easily. The graphics are very nice looking and fit perfectly with the style of the game. And the sound, well you choose what you want. Highly recommended if you listen to music when you play games or if you like twin stick shooters.

One of the best music shooter
lok0812 | June 18, 2013 | See all lok0812's reviews »This is one of the best music shooting game that actually changes based on the tempo of your musics. There are many of these games out there at the moment that doesn't have that feature but Beat Hazard have it. The game itself is similar to any top down shooter, you are only need to navigate in the space you begin, so no giant map to explore. Combat is also similar to any shoot'em up games in addition to upgrades and perks that you can get when you level up by gaining experience after you finished a song. YOu can use whatever song you have in your library but if you want to use any from your iTunes library you will need to get the cheap DLC in order for the game to support it. The game itself is also very flashy so it might be the best to turn them down to prevent seizures after a long play time. Must grab for anyone who love music genre.

When your favourite music attacks you... <3
Bynn | June 10, 2013 | See all Bynn's reviews »Overal, most games that uses music as the core of it are far and few, left alon to the "big ones" such as Stepmania, DDR, and others, but Beat Hazard turns the tide, using your own music and using it against you, your music is your own challenge. Using some heavy rock and hard beats throws in a neat challenge with huge and fast waves of foes, while a gentle song gives you something to chill out; notice that the beat itself also afects your damage out put: yes, a nice calm serenata can be easy, but your damage will be pea-sized, works both ways though. An interesing game, fun enough to play with a friend, specially for those 1 hour long remixes of hell <3

An arcade game that works with your music
jazzelmejor | June 9, 2013 | See all jazzelmejor's reviews »Remember the old games where you were a plane and the objetive was shoot things? This is something like that, but it works with your music, You need to survive waves of asteroids, enemies and bosses to survive, the music you choose decides the speed of your enemies, the difficult of the game and the lenght of the game. Also it have a multiplayer mode, so you can play with your friends with the music you like.
