"Syndicate reminds you that with a bit of creative effort, shooters don't have to play by Modern Warfare rules to be truly modern." - Gamespot.com
2069 - no longer governed by politicians, the developed world is divided up into regions controlled by mega-corporations known as syndicates. These syndicates have revolutionized how the consumer interacts with the digital world. No longer does the consumer require a device to access the world’s data and control their technology, they can do this at the blink of an eye via neural chip implant.
Civilians flocked to be “chip’d” and enjoy all that their selected syndicate has to offer; housing, medical, banking, insurance, education, entertainment and jobs. One complete package. One complete lifestyle. In return, the syndicates gained unprecedented insights, and control, over the individual and their behaviour. With little governmental oversight, business has become war. The syndicates will stop at nothing for ultimate market dominance.
At the front line of this war are the agents, the syndicate’s bio-engineered and chip-augmented enforcers. They can breach anything in the wired dataverse including their enemies, their weapons and the environment that surrounds them, making them the most efficient and deadly technological weapons in the world. Take on the role of miles kilo, eurocorp’s latest prototype agent, and embark on a brutal action adventure of corruption and revenge.
Chip Enhanced Gameplay: Slow down time, see through walls, and breach your enemy and everything digital in the world with Dart vision – A neural DART6 chip implant that allows you to interface directly with the Dataverse.
4-Player Online Co-op: Assemble your Syndicate for global domination. A 4-player, online co-op experience like no other, with chip enhanced gameplay and 9 missions re-imagined from the original Syndicate.

I wouldn't say that Syndicate has a story that is ground breaking, but the single-player experience is good and interesting enough to justify a play through. The stylish action and fluid movement make you feel like you had been thrown into a pseudo 'Matrix' world of sorts. Environments vary and look pretty decent with the large amount of bloom effects.
Where this game really shines is co-op. Utilizing hacks and team work is VITAL to success in this mode. This becomes even more true if you are unable to play with 4 players. Most of my time spent playing co-op was with only one other person, 2 player co-op leaves close to no room for error if you wish to last more than 2 minutes.
Over all this is worth picking up and playing if you are interested in a vary stylized futuristic FPS.
Buy only for the CO-OP experience.Oblaque | July 6, 2013 | See all Oblaque's reviews »
The Cooperative mode alone is worth the price of admission. This is a gorgeous, solid, pulse pounding shooter with a sleek cyberpunk style. The single player isn't the longest out there, coming in at around 6 hours, but that should not deter you. Grab four of your buddies, create your own Syndicate and go to war. The only thing that could make this package better, would be knowing that more CO-OP maps were on the way and adding a survival mode.

If you are looking for a great Sci-Fi first person shooter, look no further! Syndicate offers crisp visuals, fluid, innovative game play mechanics, and a decent story. The game is very well optimized for PC, and looks stunning and runs well on mid rage systems. The The gun play is fast and, as is expected by any top notch FPS, and the introduction of "breach" mechanics also adds a new twist to familiar game play. The sound is also exceptional, with sharp audio effects and gunshots. enemies and bosses are varied and enjoyable to fight. A great game!
Extremely fun co-op modechestburster | April 27, 2013 | See all chestburster's reviews »
The singleplayer is meh. But the co-op mode is excellent. It is comparable to the Spec Ops mode of Modern Warfare 2 and 3, but with customizable weapon loadouts, special abilities and boss fights. The co-op maps get rid of the uninteresting storylines and basically throw at you huge number of enemies and some interesting boss enemies. You have to fight them with extremely satisfying sci-fi weapons such miniguns, electric arc throwers, flamethrowers, shoulder-mounted lasers, auto-tracking grenade launchers, etc., all customizable and able to be leveled up.
