WWII: Battle Over the Pacific
Third party DRM: SecuromPlayfire Client required to download and play.
The time: World War II, the place: the skies over the Pacific Ocean and you are the only pilot who has what it takes to stand a chance against the enemy forces. You'll need your wits about you to gun down bomber and fighter planes as well as battleships and to eliminate fuel tanks, storage buildings and much more. The risks are high but the glory even greater for those brave enough to take on the P38 Lightning and F4U-4 Corsair in high speed dog fights before swooping in to bomb targets on land. The enemy planes are super quick and the pilots ruthlessly skilled, so dont hang about admiring the scenery get in there.

The game itself is done really well the gameplay is easy to learn. These WWII games won't get made that often these days. The graphics are terrible though, eventhough I don't look at graphics that often I wouldn't recomment it. Not worth the full price maybe on a sale.
Looks like a Playstation 1 game.Tholdor | Sept. 17, 2012 | See all Tholdor's reviews »
I'm not completely reliable on graphics, but these are so poorly done you can even wonder what they were thinking. A vintage look maybe, trying to touch our childhoods when we played ps1 titles for hours? Nah, I guess it was just plain, old, laziness. Graphics aside, there's nothing new about this game. Everything it does has been done better by others. Unremarkable game at best.
Decent gameplay, not great Graphicswakenbakejake | May 25, 2011 | See all wakenbakejake's reviews »
I found, like the reviewer before me, that the story and gameplay of this game are fun and engaging, the graphics blow the deal for me. I may have been able to play this years ago, but now when I try I feel more like I'm playing a playstation 1 game. The levels do get a bit repetetive, which can be annoying. A good pick for flying game enthusiasts, or for people new to the flying-game world (because the game isn't so much of a sim), as long as they are willing to sacrifice graphics, or aren't looking for a more intricate, sim-like flying game.

After playing IL2-Sturmovik, I decided to look for some more plane-shooters. I stumbled across this one, and gave it a go. Although the graphics in WW2: Battle over the Pacific are not up to scratch, the gameplay is fantastic with loads of gameplay time and a great story. If you have played IL2- Sturmovik, I strongly reccomend this as a good wartime plane shooter.
