The Class 33 (or ‘Crompton’ as it is popularly known) is a classic British Rail Southern Region diesel locomotive. With 6 authentic liveries and Sea Lion ballast hoppers, the Class 33 Add-On is a classic for British Rail diesel fans.
The Class 33 first appeared British Rail Green livery in 1960 and was deployed in the south east. The first British Rail locomotives to be fitted with a modern electric train heating system, the 33 quickly spread across the whole Southern Region and could occasionally be seen much further afield, mostly running passenger services but also turning its hand to freight operations. A total of 98 examples were built, fitted with 1,550-horsepower Sulzer engines, and they proved popular with crews. The ‘Crompton’ worked throughout the BR Blue and Network Southeast eras, and 40 survived in service up to the privatisation of the network and continued working for their new owners, EWS. These have now been retired from service, though a number survive in preservation today.

Haslemere Hassle: A Steam Railtour has failed near Haslemere. The weather is slowly getting worse, can you pick them up and return them to Woking before they get snowed in? PLEASE NOTE: Requires Portsmouth Direct Line Expansion Pack to play.
Leaves on the Line....: Its that time of the year when all the leaves end up on the track and make all the old Thumper stock unreliable. This year BR vows to get on top of the problem and reintroduce Loco hauled trains. However, will you be able to keep up to the EMU timetable in your Class33? PLEASE NOTE: Requires Portsmouth Direct Line Expansion Pack to play.
Its all Double Dutch to Me (Oxford-Paddington): BR are relaying some old sidings at Reading in preparation for projected Channel Tunnel construction traffic. Only thing is they need some ballast. Drive a double headed Civil engineers train to Hinksey, and bring back some full Sealions so they can get started.

The Class 33 Expansion Pack for Railworks 3 is a great new addition to a great game. The authentic and inspired style of the train itself makes an impression, but the addition of three other innovative scenarios makes this pack even better. Take my advice: buy this pack!
